She passed away last October. She had Alzheimer’s and or vascular dementia that progressed from relatively mild to pretty debilitating during those five years. During all that time the staff at the Atrium treated her with respect and dignity for which she and I were always grateful. At the same time my Mom was at the Atrium I was also caring for my wife who has Alzheimer’s. Her condition has also progressed during those five years the Atrium was helping me with my Mom. I had my wife in a day care program and after I would drop her off, I’d visit with my Mom. I’d watch how the staff would care for the residents and how they handled difficult situations. I was grateful for the examples and tips I learned from them and I did my best to put in to practice at home with my Wife.
