My loved one loves the community. The interaction with the staff is wonderful. We picked this community because, it was moms favorite. it was a newer facility, which is three years old, and another family member lives there. They are very responsive to families and residents.

This community was beautiful and the same price as the community that we are at now but there was no interaction from the staff and the residents.
The cleanliness of the community is great, it is very clean. The meals and dining service has actually been really good, our loved one has certain dietary restrictions and the staff have really worked well with her. From what we can see of the activities they have a lot going on, and they have really nice courtyards.

They have been wonderful to work with. We had to get our oved one in quickly, and they were willing to accommodate us with that. They were also willing to allow our move-in on a day that they don't usually allow move-ins. So they were very willing to work with us and help us out in any way that they could. We've had very positive interactions with the staff. They've been working diligently to get our loved one to take her medications and encouraging her to participate in activities, which they seem to offer a lot of. I would like for the staff to get back with us a little quicker when we call, but that could just be that we're anxious for an answer right away. The facility is newer, only about a couple of years old, so it's very up-to-date and modern. The décor reflects that, and the rooms are fresh and clean. I feel as though it also caters to the families. While we can't go in and visit now, at some point we'll be able to. And there are a lot of locations to sit and visit. They also have a lovely lobby area with a piano, which is great.

They've been excellent so far, and I would definitely recommend them. It just depends on your loved one's specific wants and needs. One thing Spring Arbor has that I didn't see at other places we looked into is a music therapist who plays the grand piano several times a week. There's quite a crowd of people who like to come for those performances, and it's really nice. If the staff suspect a health issue, they contact my loved one's doctor and take the necessary actions. They stop by her room to take her to meals. They offer a lot of activities, although I would like to see more geared toward older residents. They offer scenic tours once a week, and they help my loved one sign up and then come and get her when it's time to go, which I thought was very nice. All the staff I've interacted with have been great. During the pandemic, it's been more difficult to visit. We're not able to sit outside with the other residents, but they've arranged an outside area where we can visit just the two of us, which I appreciate. And I feel like we're getting an excellent value.

Although my parent seems to be taken care of, they’re slightly under staffed for the amount of residents in the memory care unit. They also DO NOT have enough engaging activities especially for those residents who are in the early to mid stages of Alzheimer's/dementia. When the assisted living side has a big event, such as an entertainer, the memory care side doesn’t always get to take part. They miss out on many engaging activities. The activities gal on the memory side does a great job for what she can for the whole group but it’s those few people who can use more engagement who need more stimulation otherwise they’ll just sit around in their rooms watching tv. Place looks pretty but right now, not enough for the residents to do and not enough staff to manage them without having them sit in their chairs or in their rooms.
