It's located in a nice neighborhood. The rooms and accommodations are nice. The staff are friendly. The professionals are helpful. We would have liked to see more fresh fruits and vegetables and a more balanced diet. And for memory care, I thought they needed more organized activities, perhaps led by a professional like an OT. My father had a balance of over $[removed]when he left Allegria. They have stalled for months in returning the money. They even wrote a check on a closed account. My father was in the memory care unit. A resident named [name removed] was seen a several occasions in urine soaked pants. The aids sit and look at their phones. No activities in the memory care wing.

It is hard for my to judge, because my son doesn't say much, he is 60 which is one of the youngest clients there. However there are a lot of activities, but he doesn't participate in many. He does enjoy going to church, he gets his medications on time, he can walk into town nearby. There are bus trips he can sign up for that will take them to Shoprite, Walmart, etc. There is also bingo, exercise classes, puzzles, and art classes that are available to those who want to participate in.

This facility care is little to non-existent. My parents laundry and mail packages disappeared. Allegria kept my parents personal money that was supposed to be used for their personal shopping. My father died there one month after he arrived of Covid, after being fully vaccinated, and they have not returned $[removed] money promised within 30 days. It is now more than 3 months. His death certificate (nurse) did not mention Covid so had to be changed by a doctor 3 days after his death.

This community is not what they say they are... my experience was horrible. They didn't have a doctor but kept mentioning that they have a doctor starting in a few weeks. No doctor care for my relative for 2 1/2 months. I had to remove my relative and place him in a different community. This was such a horrible situation; my relative had to be hospitalized and has passed away.

I suffer from an over-active bladder and have terrible experiences in relation to that illness. My doctors prescribed me a medication that helps and he ordered it Thursday and I have yet to have it dispensed to me. So between then and now, there should be some results but there has not been. They are giving me the run around about a drug that I was on before and it really works. Other than that they do a good job in the other areas of care. They have recently hired a new chef so I think the food service is going to be improving - we have had some good dishes so far. [name removed] and [name removed] the activities coordinators are excellent and always keep us busy, they are really well worth it and we are blessed to have them. The bus that normally takes us to places is in the shop right so we are without transportation at the moment but it is being worked on. Once that is up and running, the value for the money is great here.

very good community. they do offer a lot of activities that my loved one is just now getting acclimated to, as they are introverted. but everything has been so far so good.
It's very nice, my brother is adjusting. The bus has broken down and we are ready for that to be fixed. They usually provide transportation for shopping and church amongst other locations. It's a nice location by the water. He enjoys the variety of meals. He likes that its quiet. He gets outside and walks around the building. Independent living is on the 4th floor. They have a large room where they can sit and watch the view. The residents are nice and friendly. The staff is helpful. He has adjusted well. They provide them a alert button necklace for safety.
Our tour at Allegria at Ocean Grove was fine. It seemed a little more institutionalized, and we just got a better feeling about assisted living places that were more like apartment living. We also found better value for the cost.
My loved one was in the memory care unit. And the conditions and the support were subpar. The staff in the beginning were better. But once we got my loved one moved in there, not so much. There was a tremendous amount of turnover. The medical attention was lacking. I actually pulled my loved one out of there within a short period of time. I would NOT recommend the facility.

We weren't able to be there a lot for the meal times but what we could see the meals did seem adequate. Our loved one was not able to participate in the activities due to their health, so we aren't sure what all they offered. What we could see of the community and other residents they seemed to be really happy and active, but on the memory care side there is only so much engagement you can have, and to put covid on top of everything it was just not as stimulating of an environment as the assisted living side was.

If you can only afford a studio apartment, it's not an apartment, it more just a room (only speaking of the memory floor, did not see others)they are crazy to small. Only a twin bed and one small chair can fit. But other than that it's clean and everyone was very nice. Again, I didn't see Independent or Assisted Living apartments.

We looked into Allegria at Ocean Grove and it is a beautiful facility that was newly renovated. We loved the location, it was by the beach so I figured my dad would like to take walks on the beach. The people here were lovely and we also knew a couple of people who were here before and had a good experience.
I moved into Allegria in the last year. The staff is very good here,. [Name Removed] from Dining Services has an amazing staff that attends to my every need. [Name removed] is very approachable and is open to suggestions. The location is so great, I have ocean and lake views. I am within walking distance to the boardwalk and I enjoy going to the restaurants with my friends and family. We are near Asbury, Neptune, and the best hospital in the area (Jersey Shore Hospital). The building is very clean and the housekeeping staff are extremely nice. I am grateful for a place for mom for giving me the recommendation for this facility.

We toured Allegria at Ocean Grove, it is a large facility and the main floor is nice. When they took us upstairs, things definitely needed upgraded. The lights in the hallways were extremely bright and there was no color on the walls. The rooms themselves had piping showing in the ceilings and they were odd shaped, although some of them had a good view of the lake. I would not recommend them
I love Allegria, I give Allegria 5+ stars. The food is good here. The nursing staff is very nice and friendly. I get to hang out with my friends. I like to go to bingo, crafts and the night time movie. I love that I can walk to the beach and the lake. I love with the therapy dog Coco visits.

I toured this facility to look for options for my parents for the near future. My parents only request is that they be very close to the beach, this facility has ocean views and is about a 5 minute brisk walk to the board walk (I timed it!). The building looks old from the outside but inside the facility is clean and recently updated. The 1BR apartment I was shown has ocean AND lake views! There are plenty of activities and clubs that my parents would be interested in.

If the individual is independent and able to communicate their wishes and consignment, it is acceptable. If there are any memory care issues, don't move there. The community is clean and they make renovations. My loved one had their own room and bathroom. There are not enough staff on the memory care floor.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
