Everyone always smiles and say hello every time I visit.\nI would have rated quality of care one a 3 but once we got our own offsite doctors and pharmacy (which was horrible and frustrating), they are doing well with the remainder.\nAccording to my sister most of the food is bland and hardly ever served hot enough.\nMy sister tried bingo until she realized a number of residents cheat at it. She doesn't do arts &crafts and was doing the exercise class 2x weekly until she fell and cracked two ribs earlier this month.\nMy sister has lived there for [time frame removed] and her rent is going up 5.5%! Her last facility had a cap at 4% so this surprised her. She is irritated that they have satellite TV instead of cable; currently can't watch anything on ABC as they are in dispute with each other. Earlier this year it was the same thing with NBC. She complained to the director but he said he can't do anything about it. The interior is so gorgeous! The style feels like a luxury resort. When I compared their independent living models units with another senior living community in Holland, MI I was impressed with Rivertown's space and layout! The kitchen was twice the size. The large windows letting in all the beautiful natural light was another win in my books! The only negative I would have is trying to coordinate their medication, if they don't have the right staff then it is hard for the staff to give my loved one the required medication needed.
