I would tell others that this was our first experience with a nursing home and it was great. The tour was awesome and I did not look anywhere else because we really liked it here. They do a lot of activities with the residents and they always have something going on. The facility itself was very pretty as well. The staff was very friendly and interacted with the residents more than anywhere else I have ever seen. He really liked it here and I would highly recommend to anyone's loved one.

My parent is at Parson's House and we have repeatedly had issues in care. He feels the staff is unfriendly, so won't reach out if he is feeling bad. They save expenses by hiring a staff that is not proactive, knowledgeable, or interested in caring. There is no nurse onsite, and the "medical" staff are not trained RNs, LVNs or MOAs, so they don't have the expertise to handle anything other than dispensing prescriptions or calling an ambulance. Cleanliness is also an issue. Common areas aren't kept clean, and housekeeping in rooms is not kept up well. I've never seen the staff use the hand sanitizers when moving from room to room, even during this past outbreak of the flu. While it's a smaller community, which is great for a resident that needs minimal care, I doubt my parent will be able to age in place. As his care level rises, there just isn't the training or the expertise here to provide for a resident that needs medical care beyond simple dosing.

I cannot say enough good things about The Parsons House. We looked at several assisted living facilities in Dallas and ultimately decided on Parsons House after a patient told my husband that his mother recieved the best care there. Much to our delight, it has been the perfect fit of caring, professionalism and coziness. In addition to having an excellent staff/resident ratio, it is a privately owned facility and the owners are there daily. Although my mom does not currently own a pet, it is also pet friendly and the owner's dog is the resident mascot. Ultimately, I have found that Parsons House has created a family like setting for all residents and their families with affordable care in a very clean, comforting environment.
