About the community

Mt. Bachelor Memory Care is an assisted living community that is located in the pleasant community of Bend, Deschutes County, Oregon just outside of the Cascade Range of the central part of the state. Bend is the largest city in this area of the state with a population of just under 80,000. Because our area is somewhat sparsely populated, it can difficult to find some of the services needed for our older population, but Mt. Bachelor is one organization that is there to help.

The staff at Mt. Bachelor are dedicated to helping to fulfill the lives of those they serve. While there are many individuals in this field of health-care that go above and beyond, the ideals that set Mt. Bachelor apart are that they go the extra mile by developing bonds with the residents and their families. They also seek to improve memory care by emphasizing the life experiences of each individual. They do this through a proven, Montessori-based program called Pathways. This method has also been proven to combat the symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer's as well. Within the Bend area this program has became very well-respected for their care.

An outsanding community

I love all of the staff there. They are very caring and take great care of my father in law. They have been very approachable throughout this pandemic with communication and have kept us up to date on what's going on with him and in the community, which has made us feel very comfortable. The staff have been very accommodating in caring for him and supporting him without us not being able to be there physically. The staff are just outstanding.

Finding mom's perfect fit

My mom is a high functioning memory care resident. And the staff is terrific at helping mom find her perfect fit. And they are being so accommodating and are placing her in the assisted living so she can thrive. The staff is very pleasant, mom is pleased with them. It is nice but the building has been under construction and it said 2 weeks but has been 2 months. I really appreciated a meeting we had with the head nurse and the activity director to see where mom is at in her stage. And they went over her medicine to see what she could eliminate. It is a lovely clean place. She eats the breakfast and lunch but doesn't like the dinner. They have tried to help mom in any way they can. I would recommend them if asked.

not what it seems

I was so disappointed in the service and care for my mother. During the short few months she lived here, she was miserable. When I first toured I was thrilled because the campus is beautiful And it seemed perfect but I was so disappointed. My mom always stayed in her room. Activities director never attempted to interact or bring her to activities, while care staff and director were always rude and condescending. I will NOT be recommending this place for anyone’s loved ones. There is real lack of compassion and experience caring for the elderly here.
