Value for cost
Mountain Valley Manor is still pretty restricted but from what we can see of the community it is very clean and our loved one is always in very nice and clean clothes. He says the meals there are fantastic. Our loved one is kept very active there, so there is something for the residents to always do.
The owners aren't very friendly. I believe they are short staffed. I asked how much it would cost for more assistance for my loved one due to a medical condition. There are times where my loved one will have bed sores due to wet conditions. The community didn't even do a virtual visit for a doctor during COVID with the multiple medical conditions my loved one had. It is a good place, clean, and the community is nice. It is easy for my loved one to get along with her walker. The head nurse is controlling and doesn't delegate because she doesn't think anyone will do the job correctly. There is a lack of communication about things that have happened. They are starting to allow visits in the courtyard, but I didn't find out about this until a friend told me about it. My friend found about it on Facebook. My mother hasn't seen the hairdresser since February. The community still doesn't have their hairdresser back. I've made the decision to bring my mother home. The community did ask if there was anything they could do to help my mother when they found out she was leaving.
The cleanliness of this community and value are excellent. The care services are amazing. Before COVID they would have trivia time, bingo everyday, as well as entertainment come in to sing and play piano. They also had arts and crafts. We haven't eaten there ourselves, but the food always looks very appealing, My aunt loves the food, she is very a happy with it. The rooms are very comfortable, fairly good size, they all have a private bath. The general internal and external appearance is very lovely. Its a very nice place to live.
I am pretty satisfied. They do what they can, but sometimes I will have to mention little things that need to be done, like laundry. The staff is pretty accommodating towards me. The facility is well kept and they try as best they can to engage the residents. They are doing very well, overall.
My mom & dad are both at the Manor. They love it there! The staff is always friendly, courteous & very helpful. I am very comfortable knowing that they are being well cared for just minutes from my home. The staff treats the resident's family with the same kindness they show the residents. I would & do recommend Mountain Valley Manor to anyone who asks about senior housing.
We've had a very good experience with Mountain Valley Manor. It's a very nice place. The facility itself is clean and well kept, and the entire community has a homey family feel. The staff are all very friendly and professional, and they provide good care to their residents.
