My Review of Morada Lake Arlington

It is as advertised and it is a nice place. The food has been good to start with and they are trying to improve the food for the residents as well. Some of the activities are puzzles, bingo, happy hour, and more for the residents to choose from.

Overall Pretty Good

Our loved one, as the resident, is having more of a positive experience than we are as the family. She likes her apartment, especially the handicapped accessible bathrooms. The other residents all seem happy and nice, but the staff have been dismissive of me and brush off my concerns like they don't matter. A person at the front desk always calls my daughter a boy every time we go in, despite me correcting her. They're having issues following my loved one's lactose intolerance diet. And I would recommend you keep an eye on your bill. We had a random charge that I've called them about every week for the past month, and they just keep saying they'll get back o me. Which they haven't. But they do call me if there's an issue or emergency.

Tour of Morada

We did a virtual tour with Morada Lake Arlington and it was very helpful and informative. We actually know 2 residents who are currently staying here, but it was just not applicable for my loved one.

A Caring Community

The community has allowed the residents to eat in their room. They will bring the food to the residents due to the pandemic. The community has a hair salon on premise. It is worth checking out for your loved one. It seems like a nice enough place.

Tour of Morada Lake Arlington

We did a virtual tour with Morada Lake Arlington (which was Atria at the time we were looking) and we really liked the facility. All of the staff that we had interactions with were very friendly.

A very positive experience - They were very good at the transition from living on one's own to independent living.

They were nice people, it was a great place, and my loved one said she loved the food. The staff could not have been kinder. She just happened to have a stroke several days after she moved in. It was not at all their fault. She just happened to be there when it happened. They were super kind and super good to her, and I would recommend the place to absolutely anybody. I'm still waiting to see about a refund on the one-time, up-front fee that was paid at move-in. So we'll see how that plays out. But they did a great job at making the transition into independent living easier on my loved one. They even published a book on that transition process, called "The Wisdom of Gratitude." I think everybody ought to read it.

Big thumbs up!

From what we are able to see through the windows it is really clean, and there is never anything the staff members wont do for us when we call. They are very accommodating and attentive. Our loved one really enjoys the meals and they just started to bring the dining room service back. During the big freeze, our loved ones building lost power and heat, and the moved all the residents and their beds to the assisted living and moved them all back.

Nice facility Could only see the model which was lovely. A virtual tour would have been helpful. The lady was nice and very knowledgeable.

Bright apartment with good cabinets and senior-modified bathroom. Could not tour common areas (e.g. dining room, activity rooms) due to COVID.

Elderly Community Needs More Compassion

We didn't have the best experience due to COVID. The community started to work with us for two months and that we aren't able to move our loved one in. The community started to charge us a fee, even though my loved one wasn't living in the community. I wouldn't recommend this community to others.

Great Place for Mom

I placed my Mom in the Memory Care unit the beginning of June. I can’t express how grateful and pleased with the care that she receives in this facility. I cared for her for 9 years, and being a now retired RN, I had high expectations. They have been met. My Mom smiles, participates as much as she can in activities, including outings, and she is always clean and dressed, with all her grooming needs attended to. The facility is clean, her room is large, and the staff are friendly and truly care for all residents. I highly recommend this facility.

Great Experience

[Name removed] was very accommodating and professional at the Introduction. Nurse [Name removed] is caring, personal and compassionate. My Mom loves her aides and staff. Her condition has ameliorated substantially and no longer requires oxygen and some meds have been reduced or eliminated!!! Brookdale in-house rehab was cautious at first due to her cardio condition but has really come on strong and Mom can do many ADL's now! Great experience

Amazingly communicative staff

I moved my mom from residential care in OK to a memory care in Arlington before I realized she needed assisted living instead. Atria has been wonderful. The communication with staff makes it much easier to trust that they are taking good care of her. Whenever she is close to running out of a medication, I get a text reminder. The care givers, nursing staff, med techs, dining room staff and maintenance are all very helpful for all the services they provide. We are very pleased with this placement.

The staff here meets all of your needs and overall I think this facility is fine. I am very pleased with the cleanliness and I give them a 5-star rating on that alone. I notice the residents along with my loved ones participating in activities. They have music entertainment, movies, and games that they can play. They also seem to enjoy the food that they provide as well. I definitely recommend this property to other families that are looking into their options.

Nice Place, but not a Good Fit

I toured Brookdale while looking for a place for my loved one. The people there were very, very nice, but it was an older property, and it didn’t have the comfortable feel that I was looking for. I just wasn’t sure it would be a good fit for my loved one.
