Meadow Oaks of Roseville review
Our friend [name removed], who we have Power Of Attorney, and placed at Meadow Oaks says she likes it there. She is able to have her cat there which is a positive for her. She says she likes the food. I have never sampled the food. I feel the costs has risen too much over the past two years. There are costs increases the month she entered and another increase the beginning of the years and an increase if she needs additional services. No one indicates how many increases there will be on the beginning so we were blind to this. I have not been happy with housekeeping there and have complained to numerous staff including 2 different directors. Lots of turnover and no one seems to be able to get a handle on this. I can see this but not there all day to see the care of the individual. They have had several different activity directors in the past two years and believe the one now is relatively new. A friend of [name removed] said she observed an activity and thought the new person was good. For the costs would expect a little more attention to my friends personal needs but do not have another facility to do a comparison..

He is 101 and doing pretty good. Hospice is there 2x a week to help him with bathing and check on his vitals and health. Meadow Oaks is a great place. They have three sections..assisted care, alzeimers and memory care. My dad is in memory care. Staff is attentive, patient and friendly. Meals are good.

I can recommend Meadow Oaks for assisted but I do NOT recommend them for memory care
My mom was assaulted by a resident, Meadow Oaks moved the residents out of the area for the day, but moved him right back in. She had to go to the hospital. They now have him sitting at the same table that my mom sits at sat for dinner. This is totally unacceptable. I've already looked for a place to move over to.

Meadow Oaks Experience
This is our first experience so nothing to compare it to. Food is institutional. Not all menu items are offered to residents on memory care side No activities have been observed, but it is winter. We are really still in the transition phase, so my responses are not necessarily what they might be had we been here longer.

We liked the atmosphere, staff, room, food and the fact they had memory care for future needs and they would allow him to bring his cat. It was also reasonably priced and most conveniently located. It felt like God was looking over us and guided our decision. Thank you for your assistance in finding Meadow Oaks. We are very happy with Meadow Oaks.

Friendly staff, taking great care our mom
Honestly I feel like they offered a lot of services but now that our mom is there those don't exist. Or has changed. We were very impressed that they offered a someone to show our mom around. That never happened the person that did that had passed and my mom got missed. Aside from that all is good. Very friendly and my mom is enjoying her time there

The staff at Meadow Oaks of Roseville have been great with my dad and they are very attentive. The housekeeping is good and they do the laundry for my dad. If my dad falls, they call us immediately to let us know. My dad enjoys all of the meals and they have a top Chef. I would recommend this facility to others.

compassionate staff, happy with the care, highly recommend
We are very happy with our choice for Mom. The staff has been exceptional. The chef is very good and open to learning new recipes from residents and families. They are all very friendly and very compassionate. They take very good care of Mom. One of the employees' family member even ordered a new walker for mom and they put it together for her. Even though she can be a very tough cookie to deal with, they are all wonderful with her and encourage her to join in the activities.

My Dad Is Happy at Meadow Oaks!
Tucked away in a quiet & lovely neighborhood in Roseville, California, is a little slice of heaven called Meadow Oaks. After evaluating many assisted living residences in the area, we couldn't be happier with our dad's decision to choose this place as his new home! Now that he has lived there for 18 months, we know he made the right decision. Although our dad was understandably apprehensive about leaving his home of 37 years, It didn't take long for him to adjust to his new lifestyle and begin to thrive more than we had seen in a long time. MO is clean, the staff is amazing, and I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for the best for n assisted living!!!

This works well
The facility is very clean. My friend likes the food. The activities is good. The individual housekeeping could be improved. We picked this community because, it was conviently located for others to visit, the staff was very friendly, it seemed like a very homey type facility, and it was a smaller community. I am really happy with the staff, and would recommend this community.

Meadow Oaks is excellent. they are very good and my aunt is happy here for having to reside in a facility. I would rate the staff higher if I could, they're really good and friendly. there is currently no bus driver to take the residents on outings, but they do offer in-house activities. my aunt goes over to the assisted living side for most of them, but they are provided on both sides of the community. she likes to play card games a lot (rummy, Shanghai, dice, Uno, etc), and we were told that the assisted side did those type of things, but my loved one has not been included in that and hasn't seen it going on - so we make sure to play lots of card games with her when we visit. the meals are overall pretty good; there are some things my aunt doesn't like, just due to her own personal preference. housekeeping comes in twice a week, and they also take the laundry and switch out the bedding/linens when the room is cleaned. they allow pets as well. she had a friend from Washington come down for a visit and that friend brought her dog as well. they allowed the dog inside and this made my aunt really happy because she used to dog sit (him or her) all the time!

Overall Thoughts
I think they're very caring about their residents. My loved one has been sick a couple of times and in the hospital, and they have called us to get an update and see how he was doing because they were concerned about him. That's the best thing - how caring they are. The facility is very comfortable. When you first walk in, there's a little lobby and a person behind a desk. The dining room is right there. Everything is very homey and comfortable. We ate Thanksgiving dinner there with our loved one, and the food was excellent. I think it's a good value based on what they provide and compared to other places that we looked at.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the California regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about California regulations for Assisted Living.
