The Terraces of Roseville has great people working for them and that is reflected by the residents. The facility/staff were great during the whole decision process. They were full of information, they really care about the needs of the residents, and were very transparent. The staff is there to help and is positive. The apartments and common areas are clean, there are no lingering smells. They are in the process of upgrading all of the apartments. The place is safe, too. The food is good and there is a variety. We would recommend this facility to others. We toured The Terraces of Roseville during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This facility was great! It would have been our first choice, but a resident with a dementia diagnosis cannot live at this facility.

When we toured The Terraces of Roseville, I thought it felt more like an apartment and not necessarily like it was for older people. It was a lot bigger than some of the other places we looked into, with three floors. There seemed to be quite a few people who drove and could go out on their own. So it seemed a bit more lively and youthful.
IF YOU ARE DECIDING TO CHOOSE THIS FACILITY REMEMBER THE APPEARANCE IS NOT WHY YOU ARE PLACING A FAMILY MEMBER THERE. THEIR CARE AND COMFORT ARE WHAT YOU SHOULD BE PAYING ATTENTION TO, MEALS ARE SERVED AT A SPECIFIC TIME ONLY, AND THERE IS NO ONE TO PROVIDE FOOD OUTSIDE THAT TIME. ROOM CLEANING AND BED CHANGING IS GOOD. THEY ARE SHORT-STAFFED ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. DAY STAFF IS OK HOWEVER THE TURNOVER RATE AND UNTRAINED ATTENDANTS IS ALARMING. i WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY UNLESS YOUR PARENT IS CAPABLE OF MANAGING DAILY-LIFE ACTIVITY.

The executive director is doing a fabulous job and is very responsive. The apartments are outdated and need updates to the fixtures, cabinets, window treatments, heating and air conditioning. The dog park needs regular maintenance.

The staff have been helpful, kind, and caring. When you walk into the community it feels warm and welcoming. The residents receive the assistance they need. It is a good mix of residents that need assistance and still want their independence. This is a safe and comfortable community. The meals could use some work on options and taste. There are three meals a day served to the residents. It would be nice to see more vegan and other dietary restrictions available.

We chose Terraces because we were impressed with the way it looked and we thought the overall beauty of the facility would help with the transition from her home. All of the common areas are bright and spacious and homey feeling. The staff have been amazing. They all know mom by name, even the wait staff in the dining room. When my dad was passing they went above and beyond. They made spare rooms available to us, they sent trays to the room, they made all kinds of accommodations and we were so appreciative of that. They even have a private dining room for family and were proactive and set something up for us the day of his services. They have been very flexible. The residents have a space in front of their rooms and they are able to personalize it to make it their own. Mom plays bingo and she enjoys the puzzle room. They have a lot of outdoor areas to congregate as well. They have a tea garden and dog park too. I would highly recommend to others and already have.

We have had a great experience with The Terraces of Roseville, the person we placed here says he is very happy. Especially with the food, he said it is excellent. He is a big foody so that really says a lot. He has 2 cats and they have bene fantastic with them. There is one gal who comes into his room and the cats love her so much and always run up to her. Them being so good with the cats has been an unexpected surprise. There have been a few instances where they have been short staffed, but if he ever presses his button for help they have been very quick with their response time.
I truly valued the care that my mom received at this facility.[names removed] and the care team went above and beyond to ensure her needs were met.

This community is very clean and they are friendly. I would recommend this community for your loved one. They have activities like card bingo, wii games, board games and I am trying to become the married couples ambassador. I am starting to participate more and get involved with everyone and even setting up movie/comedy nights.

They are short staffed, have changed management and all staff, and it is all running terrible right now. She has not gotten the services we have been paying for, so she is having a horrible experience. It is a clean and a nice facility. At first she really liked the food, but she said it has gone downhill. I would not recommend to anybody at this moment until they get things figured out.

Response from The Terraces of Roseville
July 30, 2021Thank you for taking the time to submit feedback. I assure you we are taking your comments seriously. There has been some turnover at the community, but we have been working to hire and train new leadership. We would welcome the opportunity for you to come and meet the new management associates, so you can get to know them better and hear about their vision for The Terraces of Roseville. Please give me a call at 707-307-3979.
My mother developed medical issues and was in rehab , when is was time to return to the community, they went and assessed her and said that were extremely positive and that could provide all of the services she needed. However, then couldn't and I had to move in with her for 7 weeks because they never were able to provide her anything. It was actually quite dangerous for her. They said they could handle all of the medications but they got them wrong. The staff rude and is was awful.

Dad loves his new apartment. He says the food is really good, and he enjoys some of the planned activities as he is able. Terraces is run like a hotel, except the resident has to provide the toilet paper. Weird. There is little to no parking available for visitors, specifically for handicapped. Took a couple of months to get the laundry order going correctly. Once housekeeping was shown how to make up a day bed, that went well, too. Still getting used to the compartmentalization of "Work" areas; when asking for help or directions, you may likely be told, "That's not my job" and are typically referred to someone else rather than just obtaining the right person, or arranging to get the task handled. It can be confusing and frustrating to get differing answers to the same question from different employees if not used to that type of service. The only reason there are four stars instead of five is that it would be prudent to keep all the hallways and elevators vacuumed as I watched the same dirt and leaves remain for longer than two weeks. When this was mentioned, the response was, "they're too busy and the wind just blows leaves into the building anyway". Not sure what the reason for ignoring carpet stains in common areas might be. Perhaps more help should be hired. Overall, we are happy with The Terraces. As long as Dad is happy, I'm happy.

November 14, 2018Thank you for taking the time to leave a great review. We are delighted that you are so pleased with our staff & services. We will continue to provide the best care possible. Happy Birthday! 96 Very exciting! -Westmont Living
My mother is content at The Terraces, but I have not been entirely pleased with this facility. There has been more than one occasion when they staffed one caregiver for upwards of 70 people. Caregivers were leaving left and right due to being overworked, and this is sad as they have all been wonderful to my mother. While there is no law that mandates a caregiver to patient ratio, there IS state law that mandates the welfare and safety of residents must be attended to. There have been times when my mother pushed her pendant for help in getting to the restroom and it took 23 minutes for anyone to show up because staffing is cut to the bone. This is unacceptable. The administrator, [Name removed], rarely smiles and seems very aloof. She does not seem to genuinely care about residents or their families. I would recommend that anyone with a loved one at The Terraces stay on top of their care, their bill, and their general well-being. Sadly, there are many elderly people who have no one doing this for them. It seems The Terraces knows this.

We are so glad to know you are happy at our Community and hope that you are a part of The Terraces of Roseville family for a long time to come. Sincerely, The Terraces of Roseville/Westmont Living
My grandmother is thankfully independent ( currently not receiving additional care ) I do feel that there is a lot of turnover with housekeeping and in the kitchen. There are a lot of nice activities and seniors at this facility. There could be a definite improvement with the food and housekeeping.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
