The challenge was during covid being short staffed which happened in all facilities. They did their very best during a difficult time. The staff were amazing! Such wonderful Care staff truly loving caring and there to be of service to others! I wanted to give it a five for a lot of things but because of circumstances of covid Beyond their control there was a four that I gave in many categories to be accurate to the experience of the time. But honestly just so wonderful! We still go back to visit as [name removed] at 80 years old fell in love with a 92-year-old resident there who we have adopted into our family! We love him dearly and all of the folks there who took such loving care of my beloved sister [name removed] our [name removed]

Do your research! these places LOOK nice and are maybe fine for people who don't need much care. For those who do, they are grossly understaffed. Caregivers are good, but I don't expect them to be there much longer. The director is a [profanity removed] who's only interested in SELLING (which is probably the corporate directive). They need someone capable to run the place

We chose Maple Ridge because of the convenient location to family as well as the value for the money. The room sizes at the facility are wonderful, hers is 520 square feet and it is plenty for one person. The space is so well laid out and there is a lot of windows and storage space. She absolutely raves about the food. They have a new chef and when we went to tour he came out to talk to my sister and got her likes and dislikes. They did a really good job matching where she was in her dementia to the other residents. They introduced her to people who were in the same boat that she is in and it has worked out great. I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

The manager here was absolutely fantastic. She was available to me 24/7 and made that known. We chose Maple Ridge because they had the personnel trained at the facility to use a hoyer lift. The room sizes here are great. The best part about the community was the staff members, they were very nice and helpful. They always went out of their way. I would absolutely recommend the facility.

If you want an unpleasant experience for your loved one, and complete frustration with their administration, then Maple Ridge is for you. My grandfather has been at Maple Ridge for over 4 years, and during that time we've had no less than 5 different administrators, and frustration with everything from medications being dispensed incorrectly, to poor food, to apathetic staff. It got so bad a couple years ago, that the residents took up a petition to deliver to the administrator demanding improvements in staffing and meals. It's too bad, as the location, building, and overall facility itself is great, but it's the overall management that just can't get their act together. If it were not for their location on Whidbey (my grandfather will not move off island) we'd have moved him several years ago.

A Place for Mom has scored Maple Ridge 7.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
