Our Staff is awesome. They make you feel like family.
The apartment size is larger than most. Amenities include house keeping, laundry, medical staff on premise, assistance if needed, transportation to grocery store, transportation to doctor's appointments.

My mom lived here for a while and every phone call she brought up the director at Lockwood of Fenton. She is extremely unprofessional. When I called her to speak about concerns regarding my mother, she didn’t know who she was. I had to ask another worker, and they knew who she was right away. It also seemed like she treats other employees less than her. She is cold and she wants people to think she cares. However, she truly doesn’t care. She looks at the residents and sees her paycheck. My mother always commended housekeeping and maintenance. My mom never came down for food, but her friends would always commend the staff. Overall, the place would be extremely improved if the executive director were not in her position.

Save your money. Way over- priced. The management needs to be totally replaced. They never give out price lists/costs and even when quoting prices there a lot of double talk. They serve dinner for lunch and lunch for dinner. The executive manager cites..corporate makes the decisions but going online you can never find a phone number or board of directors. The medication team is complete chaos and residents are being medicated without taking blood pressure readings and don't have enough staff. Wake up CORPORATE..Get rid of manager/cook..

Happy with my choice
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful if I ever need anything. The apartment size is pretty good, I have a 2 bedroom and it is not quite big enough for all that I have but it is working out and I am getting used to it. The value for the money is really good here. I would recommend Lockwood of Fenton to others looking for independent living.

quality living for the healthy and the rich
Lockwood of Fenton is very expensive and if you live here, you have to not need any assistance. it's not so much the community, its the Lockwood corporation - I don't think they treat their tenants and future tenants very well. there is no grace period, so when you sign a lease even if you call back the next day, you are stuck with that lease. some communities give you so many days until the lease is finalized.
people that are looking into Lockwood should be expected to not change their mind because you will be tied into very expensive proposition.
other than that, it physically looks nice and the staff are friendly.

Senior living here is very, very pleasant.
it's taking us a while to get our apartment settled, but so far we like what we've seen. It's quite pretty. My apartment is smaller than I thought, but overall I feel it meets my needs. The staff are very nice. They seem to offer a lot of activities. I would have liked if they had a swimming pool for seniors to exercise. But I like the food. The soup is very flavorful, and I enjoy the pudding. I feel like the chef makes an extra effort to make it nice for us.

Beautiful facility, caring staff
We are happy that Mom is safe in this lovely building. We have found the staff to be mostly helpful and kind, esp the Medical Team who provide services only as we need them which I think keeps costs reasonable. The Affordable Housing options are wonderful and the leasing consultant shepherded us skillfully thru that process. It will never be the same as "home," but we - and Mom - are generally satisfied.

It was a Good Move
The community has a lot to offer. The move was really good for my loved one. It's nice to know that there are people around in case anything happens.
The chef just changed and the residents are grumbling a little bit.

Everyone working here is very gracious, and kind. I am sure it would be a normal thing if they were impatient but that is not so. We feel safe from covid-19, even though we fuss. I appreciate my bills, power, heat, Etc being rolled into one. Lockwood is attractive, clean, and well-run. I encourage my best friends to come here.

Review of Lockwood Of Fenton
My mother lived at Lockwood of Fenton for just over 2 ½ years. During that time, she made many new friends and tried new activities. My mother often told her friends and family that moving to Lockwood was one of the best decisions she every made and she was very happy there. From a family perspective, we took comfort in knowing that she was in a safe environment and socializing with the residents, rather than being isolated in her prior home. In addition, Lockwood was able to provide services, such as transportation to popular stores in the area, three healthy meals a day, housekeeping, and laundry services, that she could no longer do herself. As her health declined, the in-house Medical Group was able to step in and provide assistance, care, and guidance. Lockwood personnel, Medical Group staff, and Medical Hospice supported our family in those last months and days of my mother’s life and we will never forget their genuine concern, caring, and comfort. With the help of Lockwood and the Medical Group, we were able to honor our mother’s wish to remain in her apartment during those last days.

My 87 year old mother has been at Lockwood for one month.
First day, multiple residents made an effort to say hello and make her feel welcome. She now plays bingo every chance she gets and has even gone to exercise class a few times!
Plus - she is getting invited to play cards.
Staff has been helpful and very kind. A relief for my mom (and us) that she has someone around at all times.
Nice that she will be able to age in place.
So grateful that we could get her in at Lockwood of Fenton!

I would suggest that "EVERY THING" be put in writing. The things that were told, were in fact not true at all. The Dining experience needs a lot of work. Meals are not always what is on the menu, the proportions are small and limited, the cost (if paying by the meal) is VERY high, compared to local restaurants. The women in charge says one thing and the follow up is terrible. The building is very well maintained and looks good most of the time, but there are limited staff to handle any thing outside of business hours (9-5) Monday through Friday. The activities are wonderful during the week, but are VERY limited on the weekends.
