Laurelwood just seemed really disorganized. I didn't really get to meet a lot of the staff on the tour. While they offered different room sizes, Mom didn’t like the rooms. There were no closets in them, just an armoire, which was not going to get it done for all of her clothes.
We toured this community and it was just ok. It was kind of plain and didn't attract us as much as other facilities.

Many residents are not getting the care that they think they are getting. RCT has falsified of giving care 'shower" and resident was not given one. Some nurses are charting they are giving medications when meds have been found in cart with date and time still attached but not given. These people deserve the truth and this set up needs to be changed, immediately. They cannot keep a good nurse due to the disrespect that certain RCT talk to them or disobey what is being asked upon their scope of practice. Being in the health care means, "care". I truly believe that some are in it for the pay check and some really do care, I choose to be one that is a huge advocate for the elderly. God Bless.

Impressed with facility. Clean, no odors. Dated decor, but welcoming. Rooms were roomy. Cable and WiFi included. Not too impressed with menu for the one day - high carb, little meat or veggies. No call lights or bells going off. Patients seemed occupied. Staff/patient ratio seemed adequate.

This is a very nice community, the staff are friendly and mom has settled in very nicely. She has a nice room and she used her own furniture so it feels more like home to her. She has started to take part in the activities and the field trips and enjoys going to the dining room where her only complaint is they serve "Too Much" food but it is good. We would recommend scheduling a tour to see the community.

I was not impressed with this place at all during my tour of this community for my sister in law. It felt like a nursing home and I would never put her in here unless she was completely gone. It was depressing and not what we where looking for at all.

The facility is clean and well kept up. They seem to have some issues with staffing and the ratio of resident to assistant is low overall but especially in dining room. Most of the workers are friendly and dedicated to what they do and then some not so much. This is noticed in just the few short weeks I've placed my Mom at the facility. I have come to realize there is going to be issues anywhere. It's how the facility takes care of the problems as they occur makes the difference.

There were some minor issues when my mother in law moved in, however they have since been resolved. The nursing staff is patient and kind. She does not complain about the food. She is participating in some of the activities and she is making friends. This is a little older community and they have been doing some remodeling and updating. The community is clean and I would recommend it.

My wife is doing really well here. She likes it and so does the family. She has been trying to adjust and that has been hard, but the staff is really helping. The community is always clean and neat and we have no complaints.

Mom did not like the place because the wood on the floor was way to dark. We actually did not like it all that well just because it was an older building. The lady that gave us the tour was excellent and very nice.

We toured several assisted living facilities and after touring Laurelwood, we knew we had found a home for my dad. The Director, Terri, was an Angel, and walked us through all of the difficult financial paperwork and made a very hard situation easy on my father. The Nurses and staff are great and my Dad truly feels as though this is his home.

One thing we have noticed about Laurelwood Senior Living is that they all seem to be very positive all the time. My mother is doing pretty good since moving there.

I liked this place the most because it was the cleanest. That was my biggest concern anyway was the clean factor.

When we were looking for places, I felt like they could see my mother as a person and not just as a bunch of health problems. I think they promise a lot, but once you are there, it is a little slow getting everything set-up.

There have been a few initial challenges with Laurelwood Senior Living . There were some things that were supposed to be set up that were not on time. The food is also very bland. It has been kind of hard on my father making the adjustment. The staff there are all just wonderful and they really go out of their way to help in any way they can. The place is also very immaculately clean, which was one of the first things that caught my attention. For a grumpy old 98 year old man, they are doing a good job taking care of him and though there have been a couple of bumps in the road everything has gone very well.

I really liked this community, the staff was very friendly, it was very clean. The residents seemed very happy and content. I really liked that when you first come in the doors, they have a lock that engages at a certain time, that requires you to use a code to leave or enter the building. They have themed activities, and even though I was there in the evening and didn't get to experience any of them or see any of them, just hearing about them was great to hear. They really try to keep their residents engaged. The thing I like most about this community is the fact that I felt that they actually listened to me and cared about the needs of my family. I didn't get the feeling that they were just trying to fill a bed and reach a quota. I plan to go and look at this community again and see if I can experience some of the things I missed. I was overall impressed.

I have really been impressed and happy with the way my family has been treated and welcomed to Laurelwood Senior Living. From the administration to the nurses and aides and cooks. Everyone has been extremely nice and helpful on matters dealing with my father. This was a very tough time for us and they made things more comforting and showed us they really cared for my fathers well being. I'm very lucky that A Place For Mom has helped me find a great place for my father.
