I visited Inspired Living at Ivy Ridge while looking for a memory care unit for my sister. I was very impressed with the Facility. Having been a Hospice nurse for many years I had visited many facilities in Pinellas County, but I had never been to Ivy Ridge. The facility is beautifully laid out with outside spaces for their residents. Rooms are spacious and the staff was very friendly. We loved this facility very much, but the distance from where our family lived was too great. I would recommend Ivy Ridge to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.

Response from Inspired Living at Ivy Ridge
July 26, 2023Thank you Lynette for the 5-star review! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us some feedback.
Our overall experience here has been very good. Housekeeping is good overall, but I often find my dad's room dirty, bed without sheets, and him in need of changing. This part is not acceptable. Friendliness is good overall, but dad has complained to me that a particular staff member is very rude and uses profanity towards him. Otherwise, the staff is very good! Meals and dining are excellent! The activities are very good, dad just chooses not to participate much and prefers to mostly keep to himself. I chose Ivy Ridge at a higher cost because I believed it would be a superior experience. So far, it has been good, but room for improvement on the things I mentioned above. Medical care component has been wonderful.

We toured Inspired Living at Ivy Ridge and it was a no from the moment that we walked in the door. The urine odor was absolutely awful. We wanted a place that did not have that typical "nursing home" feel to it and we got that immediately here.
It seemed to be a more formal place.
Everyone there has been so terrific and extremely friendly. Overall the meals are satisfactory. They have a ton of different activities. Our loved one really enjoys the bingo and trivia. Every month they have a different destination where they encouraged the families to come and eat meals with them. For Mardi Gras they did a themed dinner, and for the state of Nevada they did like an old Vegas theme where they had a gentlemen come play songs for them. Based on our experience so far we would recommend the community to others.

Response from Inspired Living at Ivy Ridge
May 11, 2022Thanks so much for this 5-Star review!
For every imaginable holiday there is some activity they find to celebrate it, and if there is not a holiday they get to explore countries. At first we thought the rooms were small, but in fact they are pretty nice and encourage the residents to get out and about. One of the unique selling points is that they can walk outside in an enclosed walk way and sitting area anytime we want. We would recommend this community to others.

December 24, 2021Thanks so much for this wonderful 5-Star Review, Heather! We feel honored to have been chosen to care for your loved one, and are very happy to have you as a member of our Inspired Living at Ivy Ridge family.
We like the smallness and staff ratio here. Just seems a little expensive for what you're getting.

When my mom began showing signs of dementiaI began looking at all the Assisted Living Facilities in the area. Inspired Living at Ivy Ridge was one of them. I liked the appearances inside and out. The staff were all very friendly.

Very Caring and supportive staff. They listen to your concerns and take the time to get to know you and your loved one's individual needs. There are many memory care facilities out there but none of them show the kind of attention that Inspired at Ivy does. Highly recommended.

We are very pleased with Ivy Ridge. They never miss an opportunity to celebrate a cause or holiday. It is always colorful and festive. [Names removed] interact so well with the residents. [Names removed] are very involved and caring. The size of this facility creates an environment where everybody knows each other. The ability for my mom to go outside safely to enjoy the sun is a wonderful bonus.

Like all facilities, they will make promises that they can't and keep. If anything they offer is important to you, or if you have special requests that they agree to, get it in writing before signing the paperwork. Their price is higher than most in the area, but their treatment of residents is also above par, for the most part. The staff is very friendly (except the kitchen manager) and I have never witnessed a staff member being unkind to a resident, though some are surely better than others. Staff is specially trained in treatment of those with memory issues and it shows, but they are often understaffed which is problematic and leads to unintentional neglect. Activities are frequent unlike some other places, but it is hard to keep decent activities staff. My parent is no longer with them, but I would recommend this facility over any of the others we have personally experienced.

My wife has made such tremendous progress being here she is able to come home by the end of the week. The staff is wonderful here they are working with her alongside an outside physical therapy service to gain her strength back which she is doing. My wife loves the staff here they are so nice and patient. After dinner, she goes to play bingo every night she which enjoys. The food she does not like it has no taste to it no seasoning. I would recommend this community

This is a good community for my husband. I like the staff who are taking care of my husband. The community is always clean. We like the nice very of the menu and I like knowing that he likes everything they offer. He does participate in the activities with the other residents. I would recommend this community for other families.

Updating my 2015 review (at which time I gave 5 stars) - if it was possible to give more than 5 stars I would. The behaviors and needs of those afflicted with dementia do change over time, and Ivy Ridge has stayed in step, making changes in my aunt's care to meet her needs. I cannot visit often, so how do I know this? It's because of communication. Emails, videos, photos - we get updates all the time so that I can see my aunt and hear her laugh and read about her daily life ... each day is truly inspired living for her. Ivy Ridge provides an enormous amount of activities all day every day. Residents are encouraged to participate or at least to be present. The staff knows the personalities of each and knows how much level of encouragement is needed, or when to back off, because they know each one's interests. Great thought goes into planning these activities, often adding a twist to make them unique, and, therefore, very enriching and never boring. Dancing, singing, crafting, holiday and birthday celebrating, games, volleyball with a balloon and other sports, movies, playing with a Wii, animals who come to visit - the list is endless. For those who can there are field trips, lunch at restaurants, community involvement such as delivering Meals-On-Wheels. But Ivy Ridge's excellence is more than just keeping my aunt entertained. Maintaining her physical health is a priority. The staff is highly skilled in using positive motivational techniques to promote success in my aunt's physical therapy, to stimulate her to eat, to encourage her to get out of bed to start a new day. At all times the staff maintains a positive attitude and shows great patience. The greatest gift that the staff at Ivy Ridge has given to me is that they make me feel as if my aunt is the only resident. This shows the level of personal one-on-one care she receives ... as do all the other residents because I, of course, know that my aunt is not the only resident living an inspired life - just looking at their very active Facebook page shows me such wonderful photos and videos of so many other residents having a blast and living an inspired life. Thank you Inspired Living at Ivy Ridge!

The activities are the offer to the residents who want to participate. We would recommend the care and the value of this community to other families for a good value

My husband is currently in his 2nd respite care at Ivy Ridge. He and I chose Ivy Ridge because the people living there have activities going on just about all the time, including a popular bingo game every evening at 6Pm. People are free to choose activities , meal choices, and may go to their rooms when they choose. From our observation of other places we felt they seem to be more oriented to the families rather than to the patients. Ivy Ridge is definitely oriented and engaged with their patients. My husband's first stay was for a month. This current one will probably be longer. I've been in al all hours and have been pleased with all shifts. My background is in nursing/administration

My mother in law was here for a respite stay, and for the most part it was a good experience. They have a good staff here, they were very helpful and caring. They do a good job with keeping the community nice and very clean. She was cared for well here. She enjoyed playing bingo, and she would do brain stimulating activities with the staff. The memory care they provided her with was good. This is a community I would recommend, it worked out good for us.

October 12, 2016Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to give share your experience. We take pride in taking care of moms and dads and thank you for sharing your mother in law with us.
The community gave me an uncomfortable feeling during our tour. The staff was very awkward and didn't have direct answers to the many different questions I had presented to them. The main living and dinning room needed more natural light and not so many dimmed lights.
