I cannot say enough good things about this caring home for my wife. She was in 3 other homes from bad to the country clubs. This has been almost my second home since Jan. 2009 for that is when I was fortunate enough to discover Autumn Leaves, now known as Stoneybrook Memory Care Of Mc Kinney, but with the same owners. They know who I am and they have my permission to call on me whenever I can help others make the right choice and choose the best caring home as I did.Reviewed on SeniorAdvisor.com
After looking extensively for a Memory Care facility for my mother, I chose GBMC of McKinney. I looked at 9 other places before deciding. After interviewing multiple staff members and family members of residents, the choice was easy. What I heard from them has been borne out since my mother's move around 4 months ago. The caring and competent staff here is what makes the difference. The Director is special and does not sit in her office with the door closed. She is very accessible, hands-on, and very kind. The same can be said for the RN. They both put a LOT of energy into making sure the residents are getting the best care. The rest of the staff is equally competent. When looking at other facilities, I found a number of them were newly built, but the staffs at those places just didn't compare very well with Grand Brook's. Also, though Grand Brook's building is not new, I didn't want to make the mistake of choosing the building over the care. Therefore, my choice was easy. I highly recommend Grand Brook of McKinney as the place you can trust leaving your loved one at their most vulnerable time in their life. Note: if there is a negative, the only area which could use some improvement is in the facilities maintenance department. This is hardly worth mentioning since the actual care is so much more important.Reviewed on A Place For Mom
We have visit a dozen memory care facilities and decided to send my dad to Grand Brook Memory care of Mckinney for respite stay while we were out of country. This is first time for my dad to stay outside of home, his Dr. pre-caution us that it could be very challenge and frustrate to him. But it turned out a real good experience, they took good care of my dad, work above and beyond than our expectation. Grand Brook Memory Care is run by compassionate and caring professionals. From both management team like director [name removed] to staffs like [name removed] etc, they are the heart-felt acts of people who truly care and willing to help the families. We are so happy to send my dad to Grand Brook Memory care of McKinney, now we use them for day and respite stay as needed that give us a peace of mind.Reviewed on SeniorAdvisor.com
