My mom has been a resident at Glen Abbey for about three years now. The staff and caregivers are very responsive to my mom’s needs, her wants and opinions. She has never had an aid or caregiver that has not treated her with respect and dignity. They care about her physical, emotional and mental health and provide growth opportunities for each of these areas. This is especially true in regards to the type of activities that are available to the residents. Each resident has their own clean and comfortable apartment, having the feel of an apartment with ample space and a feel of home and hominess. Mom has thrived at Glen Abby we believe at least in part because of the well-balanced diet provided and the comradery that goes along with every meal in the dining area. She has made some real friends that she enjoys getting together with either in the dining area or outside in the gazebo. Knowing that mom is happy and well cared for gives our family peace of mind.
Glen Abbey is amazing place! The main area is equipped with a comfortable sitting area for visitors or residents. The dining area for residents is spacious and always clean! The staff at Glen Abbey is friendly, compassionate and kind. The residents are more like family than residents. The residents are very friendly and welcoming, as well! Glen Abbey offers a variety of daily activities that residents are invited to participate in. I would definitely recommend Glen Abbey as a residence for you or your loved one!
GA has some very good people there and some that are not. Get rid of the below average workers and find better ones. There are 2 or 3 super stars. Find more. When mom and dad moved in i believe GA did not know how to handle mom which enfed up catastrophically. Dad fit in good but there was always uncertainty by me and my sibs as to the level of expert care. Cleaning and food was sub standard. But i was always welcomed. Friendliness was there. Warmth too.

Hi Charles, Thank you for your review. We are glad to read that you were pleased with the warmth and friendliness of our staff. We encourage families to reach out to us directly to address issues and are disappointed that we did not have a chance to connect with you on these concerns while your parents lived at the community. If you would like to further discuss our opportunities for improvement, please call our community at (734) 373-0981 and ask to speak with the Executive Director. Thank you.
Glen Abbey has become home to my mom. She is happy and well cared for. We feel secure knowing she is in a caring & attentive environment. Staff is friendly and professional. Management has been on top of their game with the covid crisis ensuring safety along with resident needs and family visitation. Dedicated people, I can't praise them enough.
I've had the opportunity to provide skilled nursing services in this building (I do not work for Glen Abbey), the staff are excellent, caring, and available to communicate patient needs and concerns. Often, when I arrive at the building activities are going on with resident and staff participation. The food being served also smells and looks amazing! Facility is clean and decorated tastefully. 5 Stars!
[Name removed], [name removed], [name removed] and all the staff are always polite and on top of things. The facility is always clean and the food looks very good. I can't express enough gratitude to the memory care staff. Not an easy job! Many thanks for taking care of my mother. I have total trust in you!
Glen Abbey is a great community. My mom has lived there for over [date removed] and we could not be more pleased. The staff is very caring and we always know that our mom is being loved and cared for by the best team. We wouldn't have her any other place.
A stroke my friend had in late March, led me to start looking for a new home and help. She was dealing with the neurological and emotional effects of Parkinson's and I needed assistance as well. Went looking for a pleasant location with large, comfortable rooms (to avoid that closed in feeling) and lots of help. Glen Abbey has provided all that and more for each of us. We look out on flowers in a colorful court while the opposite side offers an expanse of green trees, grasses and sky. Whats best is the kindness of staff and care given to us by caregivers. We are greeted each day with smiles and sunshine. Everyone knows us by name, understands what we need, chats with us and tries to see if we are content. GA may not be perfect but has given us peace and support after living through months of this pandemic.
We chose Glen Abbey at the time because of the value for the money as well as the availability. I do think there is a definite lack of communication at times from the staff members, so they could use some improvement there. I would recommend and already have.
