The facility’s address and name are not clearly marked from the street view. Our GPS took us to the destination, but we spent 10 minutes trying to decipher which building was the facility. After talking with a pedestrian, we found the entrance. Once inside, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were knowledgeable, cordial, thorough, and caring. The facility was clean, the interior design was top notch, and the restrooms and the model one-bedroom unit we toured was impeccable. Activities were posted, and live music was being played while we were there. Our visit was pleasant and productive thanks to [name removed] and the Chef who agreed to customize meals according to our mom’s dietary restrictions. The price point was at the top of our budget, but the amenities seemed worth it.
We went with Franklin Terrace because of the balance of cost and services provided. She could only afford so much, she is still allowed to be independent on the budget she has available. She is in a studio apartment and it is good size. I do think that they need more variety on the meals and a lot of time the food is not delivered hot, so they could use improvement there. I would definitely recommend them to others looking.
From our understanding our loved one seems to be enjoying the meals at the facility we do know they are feeding him well. They are going to start taking him to physical therapy which we are happy about and the value for cost is pretty decent.
If you move here, be ready to not be able to get the providers you choose, like your own Visiting Physician and skilled home health services as they only allow their own. If you have been receiving services from your trusted people, they will not allow that in here. They will send you people who they ONLY want. So PREJUDICE!!!
They say Dementia Care is NOW available. Must ask questions on quality. Is it bad, good, great or outstanding? To be continued...
Nice Place. Not a lot going on. They are in the middle of upgrades.
Meals are cooked by a Culinary art chef. May activities to choose from. yes, building is a bit outdated but the friendliness overrides this. Even though many buildings are new looking, some still lack many other attributes. Franklin Terrace has been around for thirty years and is family owned, my family like that. Residents are like family and each staff member knows everyone's name. The food is great and the apartments are perfect size. Great location.
I'm sorry to day that I was not that very impressed with the building. It seemed very gloomy, and the hallway to the apartment we visited was smelly. I actually was a bit disappointed.
