They have a lot of care for the residents at this community. They take their jobs very seriously and I am very comfortable having my parents at this community, They have activities like bingo, painting, and more for the residents to do to stay busy and active in the community. The staff are excellent with the residents and their needs. The tour was great we toured twice and it was very impressive.
My mom came to the community with advanced dementia. She has been welcomed with open arms into their small memory care unit, by both staff & residents. She came with a walker & now after 3 years, is wheelchair bound due to her dementia and age (96). The caretakers & staff provide complete care for her, help her participate in the daily activity schedule, when she is able, and the staff makes sure that she gets to meals and eats in their private dining room. They assists her with eating in her room on days when not able to get up. They try to engage her is appropriate activities in the communal living room throughout the day to help her be a part of the community, as much as she is able. We have had many ups & downs with mom’s decline over the years and the unit staff & upper management staff have been responsive and accommodating to help us meet her changing needs.
I really liked Brookdale and what they had to offer, but unfortunately they were full and there was no availability when we needed it.
We fell in love with Brookdale from the first step through the front door. The staff members and care services were a 5 plus, the meals and dining service was perfect and the activities were very good. We do think the value for cost was good, they really did treat our family wonderfully. During her stay at Brookdale she really did seem happy.
Great soups. love it servers are the best
We really liked this community and all it had to offer. [name removed] was very helpful and answered all our questions. The facility is beautiful. We came away with the feeling that [name removed] will be well cared for and that they would be able to provide for all her needs. The proximity to our home is also important to us. We are scheduled to visit Sage on Sunday afternoon, but feel Brookdale will be hard to beat.
It was a good decision to put my loved one here. The staff have taken very good care of my loved one. They have assisted living and memory care, and this is one of the reasons I choose them. The communication with the staff is good. They call with any concerns.
A dear friend lives in the memory care wing of Brookdale San Marcos North. The level of dedication shown by the team here is truly outstanding. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, everyone -- from associates to management -- treats her like family, providing the care and attention she needs to ensure that she is safe and happy. Her room is comfortable and is a reasonable size -- big enough to hold all of her things including her books and DVD collection. The common area is clean, comfortable and spacious. There are also a number of programs are available to keep residents active and engaged. This is particularly important since my friend is very outgoing and thrives on interaction with others. I would not hesitate to recommend Brookdale San Marcos North and their committed staff to anyone looking for a little extra care during their golden years.
When mom and dad were residents here for around 6 months, I was witness to how well they were taken care of. When mom passed, we had to look for another memory care [community name removed] and dad moved to[website removed] due to his worsening Alzheimer's. Both did a great job with my parents. The caregivers were great both here and at Silvergate and we are forever grateful. It did my heart good to see them well cared for. Thank you!!
My husband and I are extremely pleased with the care my mother-in-law is receiving at Brookdale North. The facility is very clean and the staff are friendly, caring , and helpful. The meals served are well balanced and tasty. There are a variety of activities that my mother-in-law can participate in. The sidewalk, which circles the building, provides a beautiful view of the hill country.
My father has never regretted his choice of Brookdale North when he realized he needed assistance at least 8 years ago. The family joins Dad with complimenting [name removed] for great executive management. Brookdale North is a dependable team and they are appreciated.
The care that my wife has received is outstanding. The caregivers are exceedingly kind, very patient, and the do seem to care about the people. It is a small unit and the staff really get to know the residents. They have not had a lot of staff turnover, which I like. I chose this community because it is small. I like that the director spends most the day in the unit in direct contact with all of her staff , she is very hands on, and participates in the activities with the residents. I would recommend this community. If you have a loved that is very active, it might not be appropriate for them because of the size, they may find it restrictive.
My tour of this community went well. Everyone was very kind, and friendly. From what I was shown the community was well maintained, and everything was nice, and clean. The staff I came across was cordial, and helpful. They were informative, answered my questions. The experience went well, and this is a pretty nice community.
Everyone we met at this community seemed so upbeat. We really liked this community and they did seem to offer some nice activities and amenities. If you have the money I would recommend taking a look at this community.
Mom loves living at Brookdale. The staff have been helpful and nice. The food is fantastic and they offer good choices. They keep the community clean. Mom is enjoying the activities. I would recommend this community.
I toured this community for my mother. and her needs. Everything went well for the most part. The community looked well-kept, and everything was well maintained. The staff was friendly, and my questions were answered. The experience was a nice one, but I did find another community that suited our needs better.
My mother moved here recently and she is still adjusting. The biggest issue is they don't have enough activities. She likes most of the food and hasn't had many complaints. I chose this community because I liked he environment when I walked in and the staff was very friendly. We also appreciate that it is pet friendly and she can have her dog there.
My mom is very most satisfied with the community she is living in. They keep it clean for everyone. My mom has not complained about the staff behavior, they are doing fine. The meals are good for my mom, she is eating the meals. Our main reason for choosing them is because the community is in a convenient location for our family members to visit her.
My 92 year old father is dependent upon the facility to properly administer and keep track of his medications. Twice, in two years, the nursing staff has failed to implement medication changes even with doctor's orders faxed to the facility and being advised of the changes verbally and in person by family members. The most recent problem resulted in him being given a 40% overdose of the maximum recommended dosage for over a month before I personally checked his medications.
