The reason we gave the activities a 2 for now, which maybe not be completely fair, but their activities director was amazing and did a great job engaging the residents. However they have left and now the activities are pretty much non-existent because the new activities director is in training. It has been a couple of months so we are being patient and not complained just yet because we do know times are tough these days and they are trying their best and we know it is just temporary.
The community was in the middle of a neighborhood. There wasn't a lot of walking trails. The décor as dark in color. This seemed more of assisted living than Independent living. The marketing staff was interested in our family during the tour.

We deeply regret that we were unable to meet all of your expectations. We want to thank you for your feedback and please know it will be reviewed and used to better serve our residents and their families in the future.
Facility is well run and employees are helpful and friendly. Can improve dining experience by making less order mistakes (lost orders, wrong item) and speeding up service.
Don't just believe the sales hype. For memory care, make sure you find a place that's smaller where they actually take care of the residents. The larger places are not equipped and cannot take care of them, including Brookdale Paulin Creek. We couldn't sleep at night based on the poor care he was getting. I would make surprise visits and find him sitting by himself on the couch in the lounge in front of the TV, with no one else around him for hours. He fell repeatedly. I would not recommend this place for anything. Regular assisted living looked fine. You'd have to ask those families how it is. But for memory care, it is not a good place at all.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns and hope you will call our Brookdale Resident and Family Connection Team to discuss your concerns in greater detail.
In the beginning, it was very upbeat, but as time went on the care was very poor. Communication was ok but there was not enough communication from the medical staff. My loved one was not checking on enough and did not seem to have procedures in place to prevent falls. I would not recommend this community to others.
Many of the reviews here are by new residents or family members who don't live here and have superficial experience with the realities of the facility. My 97 year old mother has lived here eight years, seven years in the active section and one year in the assisted living section. We have seen the good the bad and the ugly. Brookdale is a FOR PROFIT corporation and the business model is predicated on PROFIT. At every turn they charge residents in order to squeeze every penny out of them. Food used to be good but is now pretty dismal and portions are small. If your loved one isn't good at advocating for themselves they will be pretty well ignored in the assisted living unit. It's like pulling teeth to get maintenance to fix or replace anything, air-conditioners, plumbing, broken decks, etc. Administration is nice when you are signing their contract (watch out for the arbitration clause) but once you are moved in and paying the exorbitant prices, they have no interest in meeting with you about concerns. Rent is raised 4-7% yearly. Imagine, if you pay $5000 a month, your rent may be raised up to $1800-$4000 EVERY YEAR! Could you sustain that on a fixed income? To be fair, there are many caring employees here, receptionists and the nurses and personal care staff are for the most part commendable. But the turnover here is huge because the wages for the real workers is poor. Moral seems poor among housekeepers and food servers. Fallout is on the elderly, especially the very old. I wonder how some are treated that don't have family to intercede for them. If you are thinking about placing your loved one here I recommend going the Brookdale corporate website and reading the reviews. They are almost universally disturbing. I wish we had done that. Now that my mother is so old we don't feel we can move her. But if she lives much longer she will be priced out into the cold. If that happens believe me, Brookdale admin staff, trained by corporate, will not blink an eye. So sad.

[name removed] and his staff I are outstanding! Would give them one thousand stars. The quality of care my dad is receiving is wonderful. My family feels so blessed to have found Dignity Care I.
automatically have to separate. assisted 5800 plus care. 7800 with separate room and two people. sandy scultz
Terribly disorganized. Not prepared for emergencies.
Excellent tour and staff. While we liked the facility we thought the cost was a little high for this facility. Obviously driven by the high real estate costs in the area. We are now looking in Oregon and Washington
This really was an education and informative for us. The residents all looked clean and happy. No funny smells in any part of the facility. It was huge! It was a beautiful and caring facility. Secure and recommended. .
My mom likes the color scheme and decor. Enjoys the food and feels like there are always plenty of options. Overall it's a good place, though she does feel that some things are pretty old, like the bathroom and how long it takes to get hot water in the shower.
Brookdale Paulin Creek was a nice place, but I did not think the facility would fit the needs of my sister. It was too big and I had already toured another community that we fell in love with.
Visited facility and of the five facilities visited in two days, this was everyone's least favorite. The sales tour was poorly done and the feeling when I left was that the outfit was "sketchy". As someone who does not have a loved one living here I can't comment on actual services but it just felt 'off' to me.
I like the care that my mom is getting here. The community is clean and maintained. The meals are appealing and the residents seem pleased with the variety. The activiites are offer to the residents for them to participate. We would recommend this community and the care that is offered to other families for good care.
My parents really like it here, and so far everything has worked out very well. This is a lovely community, everybody has been very kind and helpful. The community looks great, they do a good job with keeping the community nice and clean. They have a nice floor plan. There a plenty of activities for the residents to choose from. My parents have started to try a few. They are very pleased with the meals. I couldn't any more pleased with all they have done for us. I would highly recommend this community.
I am pleased with the overall experience of living here! The 10 hours of move -in help were a surprise to me and most welcome since i injured my knee in the process of moving. The food is not the best but it is more than adequate and available at all times. I am content with the services and like that they can be tailored to fit my needs. I have been here only one month and have yet to experience the full range of activities
Brookdale Paulin Creek dementia and Alzheimer's care facility is the best in Santa Rosa. My mother lives there whom has dementia. First they are "all inclusive" in their payment plan. There are no surprises when I get the bill. Second they have a beautiful clean facility. Third They keep up a care plan that is reviewed by me each month. The staff seem to truly care for my mothers well being. It is safe, no one can get out. I have the added problem of an unwanted family member trying to visit. The staff were quick to turn them away, protecting my mother. I am blessed to have my mom live here, and because of their lower all inclusive payment, my mom will be able to stay there the rest of her life. You don't have to pay big dollars to get great care here.
The tour I had was good. The tour guide was on time and seemed to knowledgeable about the community. During my tour I was not offered a complimentary meal or snack to see what the residents eat.
I have my father-in-law living at this community. I enjoy the staff who are always helping and caring for my father-in-law. The community is kept clean, no issues. The meal provided are good with right-size portion and if my father-in-law wants more, he can have more. Activities are available but I feel there could be more to add. I am happy with the care her and I would recommend this place.
