Good Times, Good Company

If you have higher expectations of your golden years than a standard senior living community, look no further. Nestled among historic redwoods and stunning views of Sonoma County vineyards, your new community gives you the freedom to redefine what it means to be independent in this season of life.

We handle everything from cooking and cleaning to laundry and maintenance so you can spend more time doing the things you love. And because we provide everything from independent and assisted living to memory care service, we’re known as a continuing care retirement community (CCRC). The benefit to you is peace of mind. If your circumstances change over time, you don’t have to move. We simply make a few adjustments to your individualized care plan and you can continue living life to the fullest.

It really is that easy.

Quality care isn’t the only thing you can expect to enjoy here on campus. Peruse the community calendar and fill your schedule with all kinds of enriching activities, events and programs. You can stretch your creative muscles with arts and crafts projects or knitting club gatherings, participate in fitness classes that strengthen your muscles and increase your flexibility or sign up for an excursion to places like Sonoma County Museum, Luther Burbank Home and Gardens or the Joe Rodota Trail.

With a long list of luxury amenities and services, you or your loved one may get the impression you stumbled into a destination resort rather than a continuing care retirement community (CCRC). Resident favorites include:
•Spacious accommodations that feel and function like a home
•Restaurant-style meals served in a beautiful dining room
•Fun-filled community calendar with enriching events, activities and programs
•Care team available 24 hours a day, seven days a week
•Personalized care plans designed to meet your specific needs

Transitioning among levels of care is simple and painless, so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing that your today and tomorrow are both in good hands. We also work together before you move in to create a personalized care plan tailored to meet your specific needs. Perhaps you could benefit from assistance with daily activities like bathing, dressing and managing medication. Or you might have a loved one who needs some gentle guidance and personal dining assistance throughout the day.

No matter what level of care you need, you can rest assured that our care team will be available on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency or lend a helping hand if you need some extra help during your stay.

  • Don't Judge a Book by its Cover!!!

Many of the reviews here are by new residents or family members who don't live here and have superficial experience with the realities of the facility. My 97 year old mother has lived here eight years, seven years in the active section and one year in the assisted living section. We have seen the good the bad and the ugly. Brookdale is a FOR PROFIT corporation and the business model is predicated on PROFIT. At every turn they charge residents in order to squeeze every penny out of them. Food used to be good but is now pretty dismal and portions are small. If your loved one isn't good at advocating for themselves they will be pretty well ignored in the assisted living unit. It's like pulling teeth to get maintenance to fix or replace anything, air-conditioners, plumbing, broken decks, etc. Administration is nice when you are signing their contract (watch out for the arbitration clause) but once you are moved in and paying the exorbitant prices, they have no interest in meeting with you about concerns. Rent is raised 4-7% yearly. Imagine, if you pay $5000 a month, your rent may be raised up to $1800-$4000 EVERY YEAR! Could you sustain that on a fixed income? To be fair, there are many caring employees here, receptionists and the nurses and personal care staff are for the most part commendable. But the turnover here is huge because the wages for the real workers is poor. Moral seems poor among housekeepers and food servers. Fallout is on the elderly, especially the very old. I wonder how some are treated that don't have family to intercede for them. If you are thinking about placing your loved one here I recommend going the Brookdale corporate website and reading the reviews. They are almost universally disturbing. I wish we had done that. Now that my mother is so old we don't feel we can move her. But if she lives much longer she will be priced out into the cold. If that happens believe me, Brookdale admin staff, trained by corporate, will not blink an eye. So sad.
