We chose Brookdale because of the value for the money, the setting is very pleasant, and they have outdoor spaces where residents can go sit outside. The room sizes are pretty nice, my mom and dad have a 1 bedroom apartment. Theirs does not have a kitchen but some of the apartments do. They are great about letting you make your space your own. I would recommend to others who are looking.
We had a good feeling from the first time we visited. I think she's getting very good care for the price. I think they're very attentive to her needs, and any suggestions I've made have been followed through on. They try to keep her active and occupied and encourage good behavior. They seem to have a lot of activities. The only issue I've had at any give time is getting someone on the phone to discuss things with them. But I know they're very busy, and I understand that.
Don't go there. The smoking area is right in the middle and I had to walk through it to get to my mothers apartment. There are a lot of fees for everything. The rooms were not clean and things were not fixed like they needed to be. We moved her in less than 30 days and never got the fees back. The staff tried to do the best they could they were just over worked.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and are sorry to hear you feel this way. We are committed to continuous quality service and care and will review your feedback with our management team.
Our loved one has been there for several months now. I like that when I walk in, the girl at the front desk knows who I am and accommodates me in getting in and out quickly before I go to work. They take an interest in getting to know the residents and their family members, which means a lot. The people who work there are always upbeat, and you see the residents up and out of their rooms and participating in activities. Overall for an assisited living facility, they do an excellent job of communicating what's going on, and they call you back when you call with an issue. I think they do a great job, especially considering we're in the pandemic still. They're conveniently located and close to where we live, so we can drop by often and bring our loved one food. Our loved one is not a huge fan of the food, but I think that would be the case anywhere she were to live. They do what they can with activities considering the pandemic. The value they provide is not just a dollar value. As my loved one's primary caretaker, the weight they take off my shoulders and the improvement in my mental state, as well as all they do for my loved one, is worth so much more to me than just money. They're also less expensive but still a great quality. We were lucky to get in on a great special. For anyone looking for high quality care that's not overly expensive, I would highly suggest Brookdale New Port Richey to them.
It's very basic nuts and bolts care, with utterly no frills. Because of my loved one's condition, I have to pay extra for services related to feeding and mobility, and I don't feel that they've stepped up to the plate, despite the extra money I'm spending. I don't feel like they're very aggressive at all on those two fronts. I feel like if you're going to charge me, then do those things. Having said that, they did in my loved one when I was desperate and a lot of other places wouldn't even consider him. And they told me that if he was too far gone for their facility, they would help us find a different facility. We're reaching that point, but I don't feel like they've communicated that very well. Communication has been pretty terrible in general. He's gone on hospice now, and the difference in communication is not even night and day - it's a whole new planet, and so much better.

I toured Brookdale New Port Richey and it was a fabulous tour. The lady who was showing us around did a great job.
We went with Brookdale New Port Richey because it was recommended to us. The room sizes at the facility are comfortable for one person. The staff members here have been pretty good with communication and we have been satisfied so far with how everything is going. I would recommend to others.
I toured this facility with my Dad, since he would be the resident. Overall, the facility is average looking. Property sits on 5 acres and is quite large and reminds me of a motel. The housing is on 2 levels, with some having outside access, while others are strictly indoor. The nurses station was on the 2nd floor of the main building, over looking the main lobby. It wasn't easily accessible for the residents. I noticed grime and spills on the menu placeholder outside the kitchen - if this small thing wasn't clean, what else isn't clean? Of the 3 rooms we saw, only one was really nice and that was due to a remodel. The showers in the other 2 had rusted out drains and stained grout or caulking. I detected an odor that was not pleasant (even through my mask). Outside of the in initial welcome to the facility, most of the staff didn't smile, make eye contact or say hello.
No patios or balconies with unit.
Our loved one enjoys the meals and dining service, and the price keeps going up.
My mother needed to be in a home and we made all the arrangements. The rooms she was supposed to be in, in memory care was not to my fathers liking so we did not move her in. It was old, shabby and the furniture was broken. The community itself looked fairly cleaned, and when we walked through it there was no fowl smells. the staff members were fine and very adequate with taking care of the memory care residents. The activities also seemed very good.
We chose Brookdale New Port Richey because of the staff, they are amazing. We got her in during the pandemic and no body else would even want to talk to us. They were very compensating. The room sizes are very nice, they have hard wood floors, everything is updated. She said the food is excellent. The best part about the community so far has been the staff, they have been absolutely awesome with her. They are very patient. They do have wine night, she is really enjoying that.
I would want others to know when looking into Brookdale the facility is full of bugs, they have a serious roach problems. A previous resident I knew here had the same problem and this was a few years ago. The people are very nice and relatively caring, but you cant communicate with anyone here. It is very hard to get a hold of anyone or get any answers. We were not pleased with Brookdale New Port Richey.
We really liked the fact that this community looked more like a home and than a facility. The residents seemed much happier here than at the other places we had looked at. We liked the room our loved one was in, it was two rooms in one kind of like a studio with a separate bedroom area. It was more spacious than the other rooms we had looked at. The food is very good at this community we were very surprised. They offered great portions sizes, sometimes they were even to big.Now due to the virus the residents are receiving their meals in boxes. The only complains we have is when we moved her in, we were informed we could put any kind of furniture we wanted. So we bought a nice bed and bed rails, but after a couple months we were told that specific bed and bed rails were not allowed which ended up being a waist of money.
Unless you get a hold of the director they never returned your phone calls. Very hard to get a hold of them. Very poor communication. The room sizes and the layout of the community seemed very nice. Everyone would say good luck if you need to reach them. My father in law fell many times there.
[Name removed] is awesome! Such great information and her personality is out of this world! I cannot wait to meet with her next week to see the beautiful grounds in person!
Very warm, smells clean! People are caring!
The whole team cares! Friendly.
I loved this community when my grandma was there, years ago. I recently started looking for my mom and thought about the community again. Loved the staff and residents, all nice and welcoming.
The campus was nice. The staff was friendly and aware of their surroundings. Loved the community and thinking about placing parents here.
