My family member is well taken care of at Brookdale in Finneytown. I can tell the staff is taking good care of him because he is mostly content and they smile as they talk about him when I'm there. He needs the highest level of care they provide and the staff is up to the task. I'm somewhat disappointed with the response time when I email or call with a question but I've mentioned it to them and I'm seeing some improvement in that area. By the way, the food really is delicious.... Read more

Every month they would increase his personal care dollar amount. We chose this community for the kind and friendly staff. There was no additional help on the floor, No foods served for folks that are sick. No soup, broth, jello, etc. In 2 Months, my father was sent to the hospital twice from falls.

The staff at Brookdale Finneytown is very nice, but they don't volunteer much information, and some information is contradictory. My mom likes the food, but doesn't like to go to the lunchroom. The facility smells like urine quite frequently, which I guess it is hard to keep up with. The overall quality is okay, but I'm sure there are better facilities out there.

[name removed] at Brookdale was helpful. That was my first visit and she shared so much information; not just about Brookdale but the process itself. The facility was nice but the memory care was a small corner of the facility behind a locked door. If looking for memory care, I would give them a 3. If looking for assisted living, I would give them a 4.

This facility has a pretty good feel to it overall. It's clean and a bit smaller, not as big of a community. I feel like that helps with the ability to provide more care. Communication with the family has been ok. I've had trouble reaching someone for help a few times. But they've reached out to me to update me on supplies needed, etc. They do provide transportation, but it's down to only once a week right now. That's been problematic for us at times, as far as scheduling and coordinating. Housekeeping is decent. My parents have complained about the food a few times, but they can be picky eaters. I don't have enough experience with it to rate it at this time. Overall, I'd recommend this facility to family and friends.

We transferred dad from a skilled nursing facility to Brookdale Finneytown's Memory Care unit. We've been much more pleased with his care here. The care staff seems to really know my dad and our family. It definitely feels more like home here versus an institution or hospital feel, that really stuck out to us even from the very beginning/tour. Housekeeping has been primarily satisfactory. Communication with the family has been pretty good for the most part. We had a couple of issues getting a clear answer on a couple of things, but we got them resolved. I would recommend them to family and friends.

This was a nice community. We ended up finding a community that is dedicated and specialized in memory care, and all on one story.
It is a nice facility. The people are nice, and tried to be as helpful as they could be wthin their ability. Be sure you are getting, what you need before putting your loved one in there. Also, make sure the place offers safety and securety for your loved one. Let them know your reasonable expectations for your loved one. We went in with Higher expectations, and they did not really meet those expectations.

My brother is doing better at Brookdale Finneytown than he has at previous facilities. He's made friends. He's eating better than he ever has. He likes the staff. They're all very friendly with him, and with me when I come to visit. They have a lot of activities going on if you choose to participate. He's doing great there.

I love the idea that they have a smaller community for the memory care residents and that way they are able to provide more individualized type care. They are just like everyone else right now where they are short staffed which is affecting some other things. They are using agencies so they do not know the residents as well as the day to day staff do. Overall we would definitely recommend Brookdale Finneytown to others.

No one knows what they are doing. They have different people all the time. They cant find people that want to work. The food is horrible, my loved one hates it. The reason I chose it was for people to come visit, it was a central location to family members to visit. They got 1 or 2 staff that are excellent. When they don't have regular people, the agency people do not take good care of her. It takes 30-45 minutes for help when she pressing her button. She had the same clothes on for 3 days one day. She has been giving cold food before. You do not get what you pay for. The billing department keeps charging for random things, including for [price removed] at one time for Boost drinks.

Our family had an in person tour and we liked the Brookdale community, it was a nice tour
We had an excellent tour at Brookdale Finneytown. The Director of Sales/Admissions was the biggest selling point. She was amazing. If I could move her to the facility we ended up choosing, I would - she was that good. We started out with an online tour first. The online experience was different than in person, so I was glad we did it again in person. I got a much better feel for the facility in person. I had a good overall impression of the facility, and I liked the level of activities they offered. Location played a big part in our decision. Also, Brookdale Finneytown was kind of hard to navigate. The building was shaped like an X with a big circle in the middle of it. That made for a grand entrance, but I thought it would have been too hard for my loved one to navigate with visual impairments.
Sometimes their billing is difficult to get sorted out. We were supposed to have an adjusted bill. They said they would adjust it, and the next bill we received had the same error. So that's two bills now with an error that we're waiting to have fixed. Considering nursing homes and other assisited living facilities, their price range is in a good, affordable range. They're comparable in price and better than most around. It doesn't seem like they're trying to take you for the money.

Don't go to this community. The lack of being told that our loved one had been asleep for several days and then they died. The community didn't inform us of this change. Every time we called the staff would tell us our loved one was sleeping. Hospice was the only ones that didn't like what they were seeing. If it weren't for hospice we wouldn't have known anything.

My husband was there for a week respite, while I was out of town. They treated him well. The room sizes were nice. They did not have a tv in the room for him to use. Overall it was a positive experience.

They have vary little to keep residents occupied. Disappointed there is no activity room. My mother in law does not like the food. The room sizes and layout of the community are good. The outdoor space is only accessible from the first floor which is memory care. It is hard for Assisted Living residents to use the space. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Though the facility seemed clean and nice, there was no real feeling of "homeliness." Our host was unfriendly and seemed to be devoid of any empathy. It felt like she was more interested in the next sale than she was in our loved one.

Picking a senior living center for my mother was a very difficult decision. We chose the Brookdale Senior Living in Finneytown and the experience has been exceptional from the beginning. The facility looks great and is very clean. The staff continually exceeds my expectations with the care given to my mother. When I asked my mom how she liked the staff, she commented they are “Johnny on the spot” for everything. My experience with Brookdale Finneytown has given me peace of mind that we found a place where mom feels at home and we feel she is taken care of like a family member.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
