Can’t keep a director
There have been 5 directors in 3 1/2 years. Also, it seems like they have a hard time keeping an activity director, which means there are fewer activities and they rarely take the van for trips out. The facility itself is beautiful, and cleanliness has been much better in the past year. It is sometimes hard to get an answer to a question. Most of the caregivers seem very nice and supportive. I do not like the fact that they have added so many meds…….it seems like most of them are to keep residents calm (or sleepy).

Delightful
Overall a great place and I would recommend anyone take their loved one to this lovely facility. I had the pleasure of speaking with [name removed] (executive director) who really made me feel at ease with the care my mother could recieve from this Facility.

GREATLY APPRECIATED
The staff was nice and friendly upon arrival. The atmosphere was cozy and clean! I felt validated with my concerns about placement. Guidance from the administrator whom has a nursing background helped me feel comfortable. I'm so glad and happy to say that moving forward doesn't not feel stressful.

I had to shave my husband every day and make sure his teeth were brushed. He needs to wear compression stockings for his low blood pressure and there were not applied for 5 days. Staff caring for him were very nice. Just a lack of knowledge on staff part and lack of communication from nursing staff.

This could be better for the cost.
The Bickford facility is attractive and does not look institutional. The staffing has been a challenge over the last year my mother has lived there. Communication needs to be improved. Beware of the Value Med pharmacy it is very expensive and the cost is over and above the rent. Cable television is also not included. This could be better for the cost.

I Wish I Would've Moved My Mother Earlier To Bickford
I would encourage you to seriously look into Bickford of Greenwood. The fact that the staff care, are loving, and kind to the residents really stands out to me. They have lots of activities for the residents to participate in.

I Felt Comfortable Leaving My Mom Here
I would tell others that they took good care of my loved one. This is a very caring and nice community.
Some of the activities that are available are: ice cream trucks, entertainment, arts and crafts, games and more for the residents to choose from.

Make sure your expectations meet the level of care4 your loved ones will need vs what you think it will be. The is an adjustment period for both loved ones and family. The staff is very friendly and the community is kept neat and clean. I would recommend this community to others.

My mom was a hospice patient for a month. They kept her clean and fed and tried to entertain her (although her mood was understandably depressed). It was expensive but it resolved our concerns about her care during a difficult time

Outstanding. Very high rating on facility, staff, decor and over all appearance. Very nice apartments, a good variety of options for rooms and a true feeling of home. Residents were active and friendly. Our site tour was two hours and [Name Removed] was extremely gracious.

Loved this place from the moment I walked in! It is not as large as others of its kind, but that's one of the things I liked best about it! And what it may have lacked in size, it more than made up for in charm. From the moment I walked in the front door--and straight into several cozy resident gathering areas--it felt like home. Getting around was simple. The corridors are easy to maneuver and all rooms are off a square that no matter where you start, if you walk in the same direction, it takes you to the front gathering spot or back to where you started! No getting lost in long halls or short offshoots of a maze of hallways! Everything was charming and comfortable. From the Bistro to the dining room to the delightful inner courtyard (no wandering off from outer patios or multiple exits), it felt safe and secure. Best of all was the staff! I met with several ([Name removed] , [Name removed] , and [Name removed] ) and each was pleasant and seemed truly pleased to be there. The smiles, hugs, and addressing of residents by their first names was an indication of the family atmosphere that permeated the facility.
We toured an assisted living studio and a one-bedroom apartment. We wanted a one-bedroom apartment for our mom and although that apartment was smaller than several we'd viewed elsewhere, it was well-designed and completely satisfactory for our mom's needs. The window in the bedroom let in plenty of light and the ledge in the wall separating the bedroom from the living space allowed for natural light to enter the living area--and also served as a nice place to display special treasures.
While the fees were a bit more than we'd hoped to pay, I feel they were justified in all the extra touches that were evident throughout the facility.
One last thing. Our mother has a cat that she dearly loves and there was no question that we would have to find a place that accepted small pets. Not only does Buckford of Greenwood allow pets, but they go above and beyond and provide pet care services if a resident becomes unable to care for their pet's needs at some point. That was NOT an option anywhere else we looked!
After two visits in two days, I am bringing my mother in for a visit and pray that she'll feel as much at home there as I did!

Father's Good Care
We really like this communiy very much. the staff are wonderful and caring to the needs for our father. The meals are very good for him and we like that he is pleased with the nice variety. He offers alot of good activies. The community is clean with a nice environment. We would highly recommend everything about this community to other families that are wanting excellent care for a loved one.

Great Place and A Little Pricey
It was a good experience to have a tour. I spoke with them many years ago and they kept in touch. I got a good feeling from the community but after talking about the pricing it would not be suitable for our budget.

There is no better place!
This place is wonderful and have great staff and residents. They are doing a awesome job with my loved one. My loved one really likes it here. They offer a lot of activities for the residents to participate in. I really couldn't ask for a better place for my loved one.

This is our number one choice. Rihannon was very cordial and truly wanted to get to know my husband and his personality, likes and dislikes. She was the only one who took the time to find out about us, rather than jumping right in to tell us about them. I loved the memory care unit...lots of activity going on. Residents were interacting and not just in their rooms. They seem to be able to meet our needs. I have a friend who is a resident and since my visit, have concerns about communication issues with the staff and family. I will want to check into that more closely and hope that those are isolated incidences. Overall-very impressed.

Above And Beyond!!
I really liked this community the staff were interacting very well with the residents. The atmosphere was very friendly and it was like a family home. Some of the caregivers were watching movies with the residents others were doing hands on activities depending what they liked. There was no odor in the memory care. Meal plans that are healthy are offered with good portions.

Very Nice
I took a tour of this community and I liked that it is noticeably clean. I liked the scenery which was very nice and well maintained. Everything was nice, the building and the rooms. The staff answered all my questions and I was also offered cookies, water and tea. I did see residents in the foyer and they seemed okay.
