I would ask about care conferences. I would ask what differences in food there is for someone who needs to have finger foods as opposed to those who need help eating. I would ask to see defined procedures for falls and injuries and violent interactions. I would ask them for the contact information for the assigned ombudsman.I picked. This place based on nearness to family members, referrerences, cost and willingness to answer my questions. April really helped me with the process and answered every little, benign question I had. They were able to move her in a matter of days and my grandma is so happy there! \n\nThe staff takes such amazing care of her! Even when she was in hospice and was dying, they still checked on her often and made sure that her physical needs were taken care of. My Mom did not acquire one bed sore during her stay at this facility and she always enjoyed the music that she could hear in the background. We enjoyed many happy times together in the beautiful courtyard and singing songs when there was a pianist playing songs from her \"era.\" Holidays were always a special treat, also.
