did not receive the care we expected
The facility was understaffed, and the staff did not seem motivated to provide proper patient care. They were slow to respond, and showed no initiative in solving problems for the patient, such as a chronically overheated room, and cold breakfasts. My sister only spent a month there before she passed, but we did not receive the hospice style care that we were promised when we admitted her. I regret my decision to place her there.

Disgusted!!!!
The price increased for certain services that we needed. When they do laundry, clothing is often piled in the chair. I am really not happy. The carpet is so soiled, it looks like a very unkept place. It does not seem like a secure community. There was an incicent in which, I needed to get into the community and there was no adult present, but a 5 year old who was in the receptionist area, buzzing people in. Check in more often with your loved one. They don't follow through with things.

Just NO! They don’t have any of their own employees and are over run with agency that don’t care about the residents. Management also acts like they don’t care about trying to fix any of the issues. There are better places in the area! Don’t waste your time!!

I had a very good tour experience with Beachwood Commons and was favorably impressed.
The only drawback was the fact that they did not offer memory care, we needed a facility specifically devoted to memory care for my loved one.

Not such a good place for mom
I would say no to this community. There were a lot of things that just went wrong at this community. There were a lot of young workers and they were afraid to work with my loved one and I know that this is their job. I would not recommend this community due to all we went through, there were some great staff and then there were others that just did not work out well

my review of Beachwood Commons
There seems to be a breakdown in communication between staff. Some of the nurses and caregivers I have spoken to seem to feel irritated if you have questions. The first time we spoke to the executive director it did go well.
I cant recommend this community at this time due to the issue we had

An excellent facility. I was impressed by the cleanliness and pleasant decor. Residents appeared contented. I especially liked the fact that residents are not segregated by the level of care needed. All are in the "general population". The availability of Respite Care is also a plus.

Disappointed
I was very unhappy with Beachwood Commons and would not recommend it to others. I was not happy with the lack of communication with the staff. They did not return our phone calls and did not answer our questions. They were not on top of any care that was out of the norm. There were a lot of employee changes. We ended up moving out. The aides were very nice and caring, they did not seem to have the training need for the kind of care we were needing.

Unsatisfactory
From the moment we arrived, everything went wrong. For 18 months, we tried to give the staff and management opportunities to step up. From missed medication to safety to inappropriate conversations to lack and misinformation, it was one disappointment to one frustration to the next.
Patients with needs are not easy- my loved one isn't-- but this facility has much work to do to make the beauty of their facility match their work.

going down hill
At first this place seemed like a great place, and the price was lower than many other programs in the area by about 1000$ However, more and more, we started having problems with this place. Lack of communication, lack of attention to cleaning my fathers apartment, his clothes are not returned to him when they do his laundry and he gets other peoples clothes, and they were supposed to follow my dad's diet and they do not strictly enforce it. I call for transportation to his appointments and then when I call to reconfirm they say they didn't know. You have to keep on top of them and for the price, sometimes I feel Im doing things they should be doing. There have been times they have gone above the call of duty to help us, but more recently it has gone down hill for us.

My husband does not want to participate in activities so I can't rate them. My only complaint has been with the housekeeping services and I gather that they have had a personnel problem in that area.

Great place for parents
They were terrific getting us moved in quickly.
There was one issue with one of caregivers, and when we asked she not care for Dad there was no problem. Dad only there 54 days before he passed. They were helpful with our exiting as well. Only compliant is the logistics to move funiture in and out is not easy. And they could provide some better trollys to help with the move.
Nonetheless, I'd recommend them.

NO COMMUNICATION, Difficult staff
Do not send your mom here if you want people who care.
The worst directors who you have to chase if there is a problem.
They are rude and evasive.
I have had experience with many
nursing facilities over the years.
I have never seen a head staff more interested in getting new people than taking proper care of those already there. Communications with family are very poor and certainly not timely.
Warning..there are much better places in Beachwood.

A beautiful community
this is a beautiful community. They have a lot of different room available. The staff was nice and they communicated with me on the care that is offered. I like the menu and the list of the activities that would have been helpful for my father. This community has a lot to offer. I highly recommend this community for the care of a loved one and would recommend families tour this community.
