The move in and move out process was seamless. Everyone made you feel welcome and would take the time to answer your questions. I wish that you only had to pay for the time you are actually there instead of the whole month. For that reason we probably will not use this location again for short term use. I wouldn't recommend Aster Place currently. The community seems to have my loved one at the highest level of care, and the family isn't seeing the value from this on what they are providing to our loved one. The staff communication with the family is okay, I think it could be better though. It would be nice to see more follow through on requests from our loved one's doctor. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and there are choices for the residents to choose from. It would be nice to see the staff take our loved one to the dining room, instead of delivering meals. This would allow our loved one to socialize more with the other residents. After 7 pm you have to ring for staff to allow visitors in the building, and we have had to wait more than 15 minutes for staff to answer the call to allow us in.

The curb appeal truly is the way it is. What you see is what you get. It was higher rated than any other facility that we toured in Lafayette. They were very helpful. The food was great my aunt said. The only complaint was that if they do have deliver it to the room it is an extra $3 dollar charged. Overall I would recommend I have recommended this facility to 4 of my friends.

They're close to a 5/5 rating. However, they have new management that has been slow to make sure things are kept up. For instance, the bus broke down and there was no urgency to have it fixed. Employees were parking in the front lot where guests park, so there were no parking spots for guests. That has been corrected, but it took having a meeting with higher-ups to get this done. Meals are not good and not worth the cost if a person has other options. (ie can still cook and get groceries). I am very happy with the cost of rent.
Most of the staff is fantastic. They are caring and considerate. The biggest issue is they always seem short handed and not well organized or managed. While my mother get good care she doesn’t always get care. Sometimes showers are missed and when you are only doing 2 showers a week that’s unacceptable. The food is generally good.

Aster Place seemed really nice. I liked it the best of all the places we looked at. The rooms seemed bigger, and I liked the activities better.
Aster Place is beautiful, my apartment is just wonderful but the atmosphere is just not what I was expecting. The activities are still pretty limited and when I have gone to the activities I have been disappointed. There is not much communication, and maybe that is because I live in a cottage away from the main building but I feel ignored. Whenever I have questions I am not sure who to call so I wish they could hand out a staff directory or something.

Meal service is a disaster. Long waits-quality of food is poor-not sure they are really catering to desires with residents. During COVID lockdowns-some meals not even received. Lack of communication between staff and clients improve not needed.

Our loved one absolutely loves the meals and dining service, and the staff let the residents have small jobs like calling out bingo which makes them feel important. Right away they made our loved one feel comfortable and just went out of their way to make her feel welcomed into the community.

The most important thing is that he's happy. And he's very happy there, which is big for us. He has fallen once, and they called me to let me know, which was nice. He loves the food, and right now it's chef prepared. They offer a lot of activities. His apartment is good. It's smaller, which has been an adjustment for him. But he seems to be adjusting okay overall.

Aster Place is a beautiful facility with caring staff and great food. The rooms are decent sized and are pet friendly. There is a gym to work out. A locked memory care unit is offered for loved ones suffering from Alzheimer’s.

Very attractive newer place. The rooms were nice but seemed small, and storage/closet space was lacking.

Very beautiful. Main reason we did not chose this community is it is all on one level & you had to walk a very long way from your apartment to dining hall.

My dad died as a result of a fall in their parking lot. If it hadn’t been for a kitchen worker going out for a smoke, god knows how long he would have been lying in that parking lot. They are all happy happy when they lure you in- even using their residents singing to a pianist to seal the deal. They can only handle the elderly that don’t need much assistance beyond a substantial meal

I toured this facility and it was very nice. They had a large residency, though, and it seemed a bit too busy. I felt it would be too disruptive for my Mom. I appreciated their input and help but they would’ve been considerably more expensive as well. I’ve heard the food was good, but never had the chance to try it. The building itself was slightly older, but it looked well taken care of and clean. They’re a wonderful facility and, for some people, that might work well but it ultimately didn’t fit our specific needs.

I toured here when I was trying to find a place for my mom and they were very welcoming and very friendly. The apartments are outside of the facility and that’s part of why I chose not to have my mom move in. She would’ve had to walk outside just to get to the dining hall for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff was very nice and it’s a fairly new facility so everything was very beautiful. The girls that showed me around were wonderful.

Aster Place is excellent. One thing that makes us feel really comfortable is that the place is not ostentatious; it’s homey, like walking into my mother’s house. We felt comfortable right from walking into the front door. The people there are helpful and friendly, the residents are social, and there a lot of activities like movies, games, puzzles, live entertainment, and outings. Really, the only issue is with the food. It’s good, but bland. It’s just not anything like a home cooked meal. I love that the community is close to places my mother is familiar with, and that the community itself is clean, open, and full of large windows and natural light. I would absolutely recommend Aster Place to others.

We toured a few communities and this by far was my favorite. The community was gorgeous extremely clean very well maintained nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly and helpful on the tour. However, the level of care they provided was not going to meet the level that my grandmother was in need of.

We liked this community when we visited. The people were nice and the community seemed clean. We would have chosen this community, however they did let us know they would not be able to care for my loved one very long.

One of the best things about our changing times is the way more and more people see themselves as they grow older. People have greater expectations of this time of life. They want to do more, learn more, maintain good health and be less burdened. No doubt you share those expectations. There is a...
