Overall, my loved ones are thrilled with their new home. They ended up securing a single family house that is adjacent to the main property. Armour Oaks is understaffed, but they get the job done. The rehab/make ready was done on time and budget so they were able to move in as scheduled. My loved ones are very low maintenance and have not taken advantage of the amenities (food service, ride shares, community activities, etc.) offered at the facility so I can not speak to that side of the business. Showed up on time for a scheduled tour to view assisted living & it was a joke. They didn't have any pamphlets or handours to show me pricing & when we got to the dining area, he just walked past, pointed & said this is where they dine. He was rushing because he wasn't prepared to show a unit. The unit was not handicapped accessible. No handicapped bars in bathroom & had a stair to step up to get into the bathroom, not to mention a tub that you had to "high step" into. He!!, thats the kind of tub I have at home for a younger, healthier person. Armour Oaks has no shower at all or bench w/sliding door. Nothing was handicapped accessible for a senior. I saw not one handicapped assist rail in any part of the bathroom. It was like the apt was for a person that didn't need assistance at all. I just cut it short & told him bye. I would not send my loved one there.

We had a terrible experience at Armour Oaks. Would not recommend it. They are understaffed, use floaters almost 80% of the time, so patients are mostly just "parked" and left (long term care). They truly did CARE and they TRIED, but they are clearly underfunded and just can't provide the type of care anyone would want for their parents.

This is not a community where I would ever want to place my mother. On the other hand, the staff and residents are friendly and if cost is a consideration, this is worth considering. If anyone has extra needs like fall risk this is not the place to go.

We had a really good tour experience with Armour Oaks, all the staff were nice. The only issue was the cost was higher than some others we saw and I had a few concerns about the facility itself.
I went to a lot of tours and this was just as big as the other places. The staff were good but it was not suitable for our needs. It seemed like they had a lot of residents living there. On the tour the y could have vacuumed the carpet. It seemed like it needed t be cleaned a little more.

They were a lot different and so much bigger. They had one room available but needed an elevator to get to it. The room was a nice and very private but I thought this could be a challenge for my friend and may get lost. It is a nice facility and it looks clean. The guy who gave the tour was professional.

They are caring for my wife very well and I am pleased. The community looks great and very clean. The staff is nice and very helpful. There many activities for her to choose from. She enjoys the meals, the food tastes good. I am happy with this community and would recommend it.

It is different than a lot of the other places that we looked at. The cleaning lady is so afraid of my loved one's cat though. Overall the Armour Oaks facility is pretty good and the food they serve is pretty good as well.

They seem to be extremely friendly to the family members and residents. Business side is a little disorganized but all else is fine.

I liked how people sat in the hallway & front rooms to visit. Also, liked that medicine was dispensed. The location is great & just a few minutes from my home. Also, liked how there is assigned seating in the dining room & that something else could be ordered if they didn't like what was being served. I didn't like how smoking is allowed in designated areas of the facility. Also, might be a lot of waling & stairs depending on where your room was to get to the elevator. Didn't like how you had to step into the tub to take a shower. The doorways were too small to put a walker through them had to be turned to fit.

My mom is very happy there. It's very clean, and the staff is pretty friendly. They seem to have plenty of a variety of activities, and there have been no complaints about the food. It's nice and small and beautiful, it's been a good fit for us.

Tiny rooms, tiny closets, lack of life/activity, depressing.

There are several buildings and different types of care. My mom is in the skilled nursing. I love my dad's apartment and my mom's private room. The price is good and the care is great. They really care. I think they can take better care of the landscaping. They have beautiful landscaping but it takes keeping up. One thing that I think is abosolutely insane is in the assisted living they let people smoke on the ground level. I don't know how they get away with that but they say it's allowed by the state. I fee like there should be no smoking in any of the buildings.

Good location, good for independent living. Didn't like small rooms for assisted living.

A Place for Mom has scored Armour Oaks 5.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
