April 12, 2023Thank you for your 5-star review of our community! We appreciate your feedback!
I would have to be honest and say it was not the best facility for my mother's need. Some of the staff workers there made you feel welcome and others not so much. I would get numerous calls about incidents that happened or me and relatives would have to come there to help the staff. Which was an inconvenience for the price you have to pay each month, including the community fee. Overall my mother did not feel in her mind that she was safe there. The food there was not the greatest either. It seemed to be the same thing every day/week. Overall, even though they said they handled dementia and memory care issues, you had to be at a certain level/later stage of dementia, more immobile. They were not trained to handle someone in the beginning stages, so it felt like a lot time and energy waisted since I was not properly informed from the beginning.

The location is perfect and beautiful. The staff is caring and friendly. Everything is available in house for specialized care such as podiatry, dermatology etc. The entire staff does an outstanding job!!!

February 17, 2023Tim, thank you for your 5-star review of our community! We appreciate your feedback!
I wouldn't recommend you tour or place your loved ones here. My loved ones were here and their move in was horrible. One of my loved ones was there for less than a week. The Executive Director is mostly unresponsive to any form of communication. I'm still waiting for a response to some follow up questions I had and I have waited for more than three business days for a response. This is unacceptable in my opinion. I ended up taking my loved ones out of the community for their safety.

American House is a very clean, friendly and safe environment which allows residents to live in their own apt with assurance from staff for the care they need.

February 10, 2023Lisa, thank you for your 5-star review of our community! We appreciate your feedback.
It's a very clean community. There is interaction with, the people at the main desk and the director, but there is no interaction with the staff on the main floor. The lunch and dinner is terrible but breakfast is good. My loved one needs to be, included in more activies that are appropriate for them. We picked this community because, it was better than other places that we visited. We also liked, the cleanliness, and they had onsite nurses in the building. The facility itself was really nice.

Overall we have been pleased with the care at American House. Our only complaint is lack of communication from administration and nursing regarding falls and plan of care.

February 10, 2023Marcie, thanks so much for your feedback! We appreciate you being open and honest with us.
It's a small, family-oriented community where it's easy for the residents to get to know each other. We picked them based on cost. The size of the room is average. The activities are a bit outdated and could stand to be updated. The facility is not new, but they are making improvements.

September 7, 2022TS, thanks so much for your feedback. We appreciate you being open and honest with us.
Since our loved one has moved in the staff members continue to be so friendly and great with the residents. Based on our experience so far with American House Lutz we would definitely recommend them to other families and especially for women. This is not a negative comment for the community but when it comes to the activities they could have more for men and more things they may be interested in

I think this is a great place for my loved one. There was a small adjustment time for my loved one to settle in to the community. The staff are getting better to work with for communication with the family. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and they have options to choose from. There is a monthly calendar of activities for the residents to choose from as well.

Feel free to reach out to our Vice President of Operations, [name removed], at 248-203-1800 to discuss any concerns you may have. We value your feedback and look forward to hearing from you.
I toured American House and had a good first impression. [community name removed] had an additional license - extended congregate care - which allowed them to provide more services for residents. I chose another community because it was located closer to me and had more to offer.

March 14, 2022Thank you for taking the time to visit our community! We appreciate your feedback.
The memory care unit is upstairs so residents could not mingle with others. We think it is important for them to be able to talk to others to help slow down the disease. There is also only a little balcony, there is no where for residents to get outside and walk around. We just did not feel like there was much interaction and it was not a robust environment for the mental stimulation we were looking for for our loved one. What we did like about the facility was it did not feel institutional. The rooms are private and feel more like apartment-style living.

Our tour at American House Lutz was fine. The people seemed very kind. Cleanliness was not as great as the palace we chose, and the location was not as convenient for our family.

My mom has been a resident for over a year. Overall, I am satisfied with the care. I believe the facility could do a better job of assessing the residents. The facility is NOT a skilled nursing home. It does not have that "nursing home" feel. For the most part, it is clean, the food is good, and the staff is friendly. Honestly, you cannot beat the price for a single room. My only complaint is the staff turn over (I assume most facilities are experiencing this issue).

Our tour at American House Lutz was very nice. Everything was clean. Everybody was nice. It just wasn't a good fit for our loved one since he was not ready for that level of care yet.

October 18, 2021Joseph, thank you for the 5-star review of our community! We are happy to hear about your experience at American House.
We chose American House Lutz because they had a memory care unit for my mom and some others we looked into did not offer that. They do have private and shared rooms. The staff were very informative, friendly, and made it an easy decision for us. I would recommend to others looking.

The staff have been very nice and friendly with my loved one. However, I would recommend to look somewhere else. I would not recommend this place. My family and my loved one are not getting the services that were stated at the beginning.
