These provisions include staff may supervise self-administration of medications if a licensed health care professional determines that a resident is capable of selfadministration. , reassuring residents that they have obtained and are taking the dosage as prescribed, and giving injections. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to guarantee their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as each resident must receive a functional needs assessment completed in writing by a physician or other licensed health care professional, assessment must provide information about the resident’s health status and functional, psychosocial, activity, and dietary needs, recent changes or risk factors in the resident’s life, and evaluate residents who have behavioral problems to determine their intensity, duration, and frequency. This type of facility is required to offer a number of services. These include personal assistance, assistance in making appointments for dental and medical services, help with selfadministration of medications and medication administration, and or use of equipment. Staff members obtain education in a number of areas. These areas include residents’ rights, specialty care based on individualized residents’ needs and service plans, group and individual resident activities, and the residence’s policies and procedures. There must be one bath or shower for every 1 residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. The maximum occupancy is 2 residents per room.
