Families searching for assisted living in New Hampshire will be greeted by natural beauty in just about every direction. The Granite State remains a popular spot for seniors, largely for its outstanding scenery, but also for its easy access to the Atlantic Coast and nearby New England destinations. New Hampshire’s main metropolitan area, Manchester, is located in the south-central region, but most of the state is defined by its winding rivers, natural bodies of water, and conifer-covered landscape. Lake Winnipesaukee is a large glacial lake in central New Hampshire at the foothills of the White Mountains. This rugged subrange of the Appalachians stretches into the state’s Great North Woods region and attracts millions of tourists every year with its ski slopes, hiking trails, and climbing walls. New Hampshire may be small in area, but it offers countless opportunities for an active yet peaceful retirement.
Currently, A Place for Mom partners with more than 35 senior living communities in New Hampshire that provide assisted living.
The median monthly cost of assisted living in New Hampshire is about $6,200.
Assisted Living
My dad recently moved into the assisted living at Golden View. This was a difficult transition for him, but the administrator personally escorted him to the dining room and introduced him to the other residents and really made him and us feel welcome. We visit at different times of day due to our busy schedule and have found the staff on all shifts to be responsive and friendly. My dad has adjusted well, even made friends and is attending the various programs they offer. Also, he is not the only male resident! When we toured other facilities, it is mostly females so this was important to him. I feel for the price we are getting quality care, a private room w/ full bath, and a nurse 24/7 on site.
Read moreSo far the difference between where she was and where she is now is like night and day. The Village has far better staff. They keep Mother involved in functions so she doesn't just sit in her room and dwell on hallucinations/delusions. So she is much happier, and it looks like she's healthier as well. Everything that we've needed or asked for they have provided right away. They're proactive as well. If they notice a need and they can address it, they do so. For instance, she needed a clothing item, and somebody went out and got it for her. I would tell anyone 100% yes, this is a good place to go.
Read moreWhile driving around Vt. and passing by Valley Terrace Assisted Living I noticed how welcoming the flowers on the balconies were. Time passed and my daughter introduced me to several assisted living facilities. With encouragement from my family I moved into Valley Terrace as it was a small community, there are walking areas and a flower garden. There are many activities both mentally and physically. The nursing staff keeps me from worrying about my health problems which is a BIG plus. Working through the virus challenges we will hopefully return to a normal life and "there will flowers on the balconies once again."
