Silverado Senior Living

They have taken good care of him so far. My grandpa seems to like the place. The staff is friendly and he likes the other residents. My parents are pleased with the level of care that they have provided so far.

Everything has been great so far. Every time we go it's a good experience. It's clean and the staff is friendly. I don't have any concern over food or activities. It's still pretty new to us, but so far it's going well.

I know my Mom is in a safe place with some extremely caring and knowledgeable caregivers watching over her.

We like the smaller size of The Berkshire, the main part of the community is based all on the ground floor which is also nice. Staff and nurses are great, good communication, and we've felt secure having our dad there.

I first spoke to and met Monuca. A sweet caring woman who understood our family needed time to adjust and having a month to settle in before the commitment is a wonderful thing to have. Meeting Linda, Janet and all the caretakers has been a blessing too. Everyone is respectful of each individual there. A very caring environment.

I liked a lot of what I saw, it would have been my next choice.They have mostly dual rooms, and so there is a shared room. We were looking for something private. It was a little further away than the community I chose. I liked the activities going on, but it almost seems a little chaotic at times. They seem to be very good with people with behavior issues. Everyone was very friendly, and it was clean. It was a very nice place.

We have high praise for all the staff at Silverado. They know the residents names and know how to meet individual needs. The nursing staff has been very responsive in giving us feedback about our mom. The environment is relaxed and peaceful which is so important for these seniors. The atmosphere is so friendly we love to come and visit.

My wife, Patricia, is type 1 diabetic and suffers from dementia/alzheimers. She needs help with nearly all functions. I take her over to Silverado around 10:00 AM each weekday morning and pick her up at 4:30 PM. I have found the staff at Silverado is very friendly and eager to help their guests. The place is always clean, has a lot of activities and the nurse always greets me when I drop Pat off. I have eaten there on two occasions and both were pleasant experiences. The food was delicious and prepared properly. I believe Pat really enjoys herself there and enjoys the company and stimulation of activities. The place impresses me as being well managed.

Liked very much. It seemed nice with good activities, but the Belmont was a little closer. Silverado was definitely equipped to handle dementia, but overall the services seemed a little less comprehensive.

It's so hard to keep those floors clean with the patients that they have there. I'm impressed with the care. The day to day staff is a little...it depends upon the person. What I'm most pleased with is they seem to talk to each other. There is good communication between people. The nurse on the first floor should be cloned. She's absolutely amazing! The second floor nurses are very fine too, so it the reception staff. Overall I'm pleased and relieved.

Staff was truly caring and they worked well with the hospice team.

I would say that it's hardest thing I've ever done to put my husband in this place. But I really don't think any other place would have been better. He wanted to be home, of course. The friendliness of the staff helped me. When my loved one tried to get out someone was there to prevent it. It might have been hard for Silverado because they didn't have a separate area for mental health.

My loved one was a resident at Silverado Beach Cities and our experience here at this facility was good overall. The main reason for the lower rating would be the facility itself. It is still too much like a hospital. It has that hospital vibe. I would say to all people who are looking for a care facility that every Assisted Living facility is going to have its shortcomings. It is a very tough business to house, feed, and provide care for an elderly person with disabilities such as Dementia. Some are better at certain parts of the care of our loved ones than other parts of the care. The food at this facility is not as good of a product as it is at my loved one's other facility. However, this facility provided more activities that were, I think, more beneficial than the other place.

This facility is wonderful. All of the staff are truly caring, fantastic people and they work very hard. My wife and I visited Mom here several times a week and I can tell you, nobody could ever doubt the quality of care that is given at this place. They're Aces. We saw marked improvement in Mom's cognitive ability after moving her here. They have a very unique program for Memory Care. From the initial extensive interview/evaluation, to taking the time to notice the resident's patterns, to putting them with other residents that they can relate to and interact with. The Family Ambassador and the Executive Director are fantastic. Mom was hospitalized 3 different times (no fault of the facility). The Executive Director would call me and ask how Mom was doing. The Family Ambassador actually visited Mom several times during each hospital stay. During one of her hospital stays, mom had told me that she didn't have her eye glasses, I'd mentioned that to the Family Ambassador when she called for an update. Come to find out (from one of the nurses)....she took the time to take Mom's glasses to her at the hospital on her way home from work. Just above and beyond. The facility itself is great also. The cleanliness is one of the best I've seen and I've toured several. They have hydration stations throughout, a good variety of activities and weekly outings, are open to and encourage loved one's participation, and the food is pretty good. I really have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. From top to bottom, these people cover it all. It's expensive, yes. But all of them are. They're not doing it for the money here, they're spending it on the residents and it shows. They made Mom's last months truly great months. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone, anytime. Without a doubt.

We would recommend to other families

They gave a good tour it was just not the right fit for my loved one.. It is a larger facility and I felt like my loved one would get lost in the shuffle and overwhelmed. They also were not able to accommodate my loved ones diabetes.

I would like to see more of the aids when I go in, I do not see them often at all. My only gripe with the facility is that when I first came involved with the director, she told me I would be able to come and go anytime I wanted to, other than the 30 day quarantine and I have found that not to be true. They only allow 2 visits a week from any family member and the same family member cannot go 2 days in a row. The new director has assured us that when the restrictions are lifted, we will be able to come and go as we please and take him home as well. Other than that issue it is a really great facility, my husband really seems to enjoy the food that they serve and they offer a lot of activities, he is being stimulated in a way that I never could. He is never in his room he is always out doing things which tells me he is getting along well with the other residents. I do really like the way they keep him clean and shaved and he is always happy and ready to visit with us. He loves it here and they really love him. He has adjusted in a way that I never thought that he would. I would recommend this facility to other families who are looking.

The community is very nice and friendly. The staff answers all my questions. The communication is very good between the staff and the families and they keep us well informed I would recommend this community to others. Overall the community has done a great job

Very nice Memory care facility, under new management, 52 bed like new infrastructure, wide halls, clean, good lighting, well organized, 3 secure courtyards (outdoor areas), rooms are larger nice private studio (with twin bed, night stand, and dresser if desired, or use your own furniture) includes closet, utility, & internet provided, large private bathroom have wheel chair shower with seat & multiple grab bars for safety of residents, all residents I saw at dinner table area looked like they had good hygiene, most all services are inclusive with monthly fee. No Medicaid spin down.
