Our Experience

Housekeeping is short staffed. Weekly room cleaning & laundry service are adequate. Could be better. LVN & RA support. Slow response time to request for support. We wish could show more creativity in development of activities and encouraging residents to participate Overall is a little pricey Experience has been- Services are inconsistent; have to constantly check in at facility to ensure Mom is OK. I had hoped for more support and peace of mind when I am not with Mom.

I'm very happy with my choice

At Cedarview, there can be a lack of professionalism in some areas. If a manager has a "beef" with someone it should be private and not open or addressed in the dining or activities room. I've only been here a short while, and some residents have said the quality of the food has gone down. There's a lot of beef, chicken, and pork, it's processed meat. There's lots to choose from and nothing necessarily wrong with the food. No ones going to go hungry. Sometimes what's on the menu doesn't match what's being served, that's not a big deal with me, but may be to others. There's an ala carte menu on the back of the regular menu, but I have a hard time getting specific sides. I know its there because it comes in daily and it's always there, but they'll tell me they don't have it even if its on the menu. Most times someone else will go and get it for me. If they won't be able to provide those things, then they maybe shouldn't add it on the menu. There's always something going on with the activities. There's not a lot of visitation with the activities, which is to no fault of the community or the activities director. It's more so what the residents are interested in. For example: bingo has high a attendance rate, while some other activities may not be as desired. I'm very happy with the location of my room, I'm happy I'm allowed to have my pet here. I also like that I have easy access to the outside. Cedarview is a beautiful place, but I can't compare it to many places. I have no complaints - there's just some professionalism that needs to be displayed in regards to calling others out in shared spaces.

My tour review

This community was nice but there was another community that we felt worked better for my loved one over all. The tour was great and they gave me all of the information that I needed and I was able to see everything that I needed.

A Great Place to Live!

We moved here to Heritage Meadows in Cambridge about 3 years ago, and have been very happy and comfortable since then. We were welcomed into the Family by the management teams and friendly staff. They made sure we were introduced to all the amenities available and the Activity Co-ordinator encouraged us to join some of the activities (although we were never pressured to participate if we didn't want to.) The food was always first rate, but has suffered somewhat from frequent changes in head chefs this past year. It's a work in progress, but we have no doubt they will find the right fit soon. Because of this, we must assign a rating of 4. This should in no way take away our overall comfort here at Heritage Meadows, especially in this time of the Covid-19 Pandemic. At all times we felt safe and protected ....... they took care of us as if we were there own parents/grandparents. Our families felt the same!

My home

I have been at Heritage Meadows for a little over 3 years. I had been diagnosed with epilepsy in 1980 and with PNES, Psychogenic non-epileptic seizures. After a few health scares I went to stay with two of my children because they were worried about me living alone. After a year we decided I should look for a place to stay were I could be with others, independent but safe. Than I developed blood clots in my lungs and doctors told me they were caused by a malfunctioning mitral valve. I needed open heart surgery ASAP. I came to live at Heritage Meadows in [date removed] I had my heart surgery in [date removed]. With 3 homemade meals a day, Coffe/tea available all day everyday, weekly housekeeping, laundry facilities, lots of activities and more, it has been easy to make Heritage my home. The staff are wonderful and caring. Our activity director, maintenance staff and shuttle driver are amazing. Let’s face it nothing is perfect but life at Heritage Meadows is pretty close.

Caring staff

We moved my father to the Arbor (memory care) at Brightwater three months ago. The facility is well-planned, with lots of open spaces to walk around, sit, and visit. There is a nice area where residents can sit and enjoy free coffee and snacks and ice cream while playing pool, games, or watching a big-screen TV. Outdoor areas are well-landscaped with views of the San Bernardino mountains and Redlands valley. Rooms are neat and clean; each room has a thermostat control. Meals are healthy, with heavier lunches and lighter dinners, served to residents who are seated together at family tables. Various activities are planned for residents each day by Brightwater staff, including some community outings for those who are able and want to participate. We have met very kind resident assistant caregivers who are patient, respectful, encouraging, and accomodating.

Everything Is Going Well

It's taking some time for my father to adjust with the move into the community but we understand it will take some time. So far everything is going well with him the staff has been good to him. It is a very nice looking place and good people there. He has made some new friends so that is a plus. I would say to anyone going through this process just make sure you communicate you loved one needs to the staff so they understand everything.

Not What It Cracks Up To Be

I would encourage you to look at other communities due to the lack of staffing and training to provide for the residents. There is a lack of internal communication with the staff members. The phone system is horrible due to having to work with AT&T to get a phone in your loved one's room. There is no other company to work with to get a phone line to your loved one's room. I think the owner should look at having another company offer the phone line for the resident's rooms. The community has transportation; however, it has been broken down a few times causing delays and cancelations. There is no back up plan if the van breaks down or if the driver calls in sick, when this happens the community will cancel all rides for the day. They are more expensive than other communities in the area.

Our experience with Brightwater

I think from a positive standpoint, it was very clean, the facility is physically super nice, and it looks like they had plenty of activities if you wanted to get involved. The downside is if a resident is in need of anything other than bare-minimum assistance it is a problem. They are not able to get to the residents as rapidly as they need to and give them the care that they need. It is a place that leaned more towards independent living rather than assisted living.

Overall a nice community with great people

The community is clean and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The meals and dining service is great and they do have a lot of activities going on. The value for cost is similar to an upscale apartment. However, this is just not the place for me, everyone here is a little bit older and it is a very social environment.

Good Tour, But Dorm Size Rooms

This was a very nice community, and I had a nice tour of it. However their rates are very expensive. The community looked nice, but the room they showed me was small. It is a newer facility, and everything was well-kept. It was a good experience, but for the prices they charge you think the rooms would be bigger.

Still adjusting parents and facility

The facility and parents are still adjusting. Only been one week today. The staff are so nice and caring. I don't feel really comfortable evaluating so soon. I would really like to make a true evaluation after my parents have been there a couple of months. There really has not been enough time to figure out exactly how much care my parents really need and if Bright Water is eventually going to meet all their needs.
