I thought it would have been the best fit for my Aunt. I had to remove her from Brightwater community due to the lack of care, staff and cost going up.

We have been very please with Brightwater. My dad is well taken care of. The staff is very kind and friendly. They call him by name when they speak to him. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. It is clean and smells great. I love the music that plays in the hallways. The other guests seem happy to be there as well. There are a lot of activities for the residents. My dad feels very comfortable in his room and it’s a great set up. Of course you want to be in your own home but this is the next best place to have your loved one kept safe and healthy as well as happy!

Response from Brightwater Senior Living of Highland
July 6, 2023Thank you for your kind words Shari, we love your dad and are so happy that his is happy!
Brightwater is a beautiful facility. My mom is very happy there. I think just getting staffing is something they need to improve on, but I believe that is difficult everywhere right now.

Mom and dad both were presenting with changes. Mom with vascular dementia and dad went blind. This was an overwhelming undertaking as I the only child weighed out my options. Brightwater had beautiful curb appeal and lovely interior decor, but could they meet the needs of my parents? I met with [name removed] and yes, there was a solution for all my concerns. We moved in April 2022, it was a dance. Communication was key, I remain involved in the ever changing dynamics of aging and they remain dedicated to solution based caregiving. This has become my home away from home and Brightwater staff are near and dear to my heart.

Our loved one fell in [date removed] and broke her hip and fractured her neck. After a brief stay at [community name removed] (which we do NOT RECOMMEND) we found BRIGHTWATER. We fell in love with Brightwater. At Brightwater, the residents have control over their own rooms' temperatures. The food was immensely better, the entire place smells nice, they have a library, a puzzle room, a workout room, and many amenities! My loved one is not a fan of other people or being away from her home, and even she had to admit that the place was safe, clean, and had the hospitality and friendliness of a hotel! There are clubs and field trips. Most of us had to return to work after our loved one was well enough to leave the hospital but not well enough to go home, and the level of care and cleanliness at Brightwater made it possible for us to focus at work and not worry about our loved one eating, getting medications, or moving about as she healed.

My mom moved into Brightwater earlier this year and we couldn't be happier with the experience. The facility is beautiful, the food is delicious and the staff are all very kind. We love Brightwater!
The food is terrible. It's a nice facility but be careful when, they evalaute your loved one. It is moreso for high functioning people only!!

Housekeeping is short staffed. Weekly room cleaning & laundry service are adequate. Could be better. LVN & RA support. Slow response time to request for support. We wish could show more creativity in development of activities and encouraging residents to participate Overall is a little pricey Experience has been- Services are inconsistent; have to constantly check in at facility to ensure Mom is OK. I had hoped for more support and peace of mind when I am not with Mom.

I would encourage you to look at other communities due to the lack of staffing and training to provide for the residents. There is a lack of internal communication with the staff members. The phone system is horrible due to having to work with AT&T to get a phone in your loved one's room. There is no other company to work with to get a phone line to your loved one's room. I think the owner should look at having another company offer the phone line for the resident's rooms. The community has transportation; however, it has been broken down a few times causing delays and cancelations. There is no back up plan if the van breaks down or if the driver calls in sick, when this happens the community will cancel all rides for the day. They are more expensive than other communities in the area.

The management was terrible. Some of the staff were great and some were not. The food in dining area was okay, memory care not okay. The facily was nice, personnel varied, and the care givers were good. Overall, management was unapproachable. Once you were in, they did not care.

Had slight issue with one worker but it was determined to possibly be a misunderstanding and it was addressed immediately. The meals are fabulous, and kitchen staff outstanding. Wouldn’t mind going there when the time comes.

The staff at Brightwater turned what had been a very hard month of a deteriorating situation with my mother into an amazing and comforting experience. Thank you [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], and the entire team!
outstanding facility that provided exceptional care for my mother over 4 years. good food and activities. attention to spiritual care with bible studies and church services. the staff was alert, attentive and LOVED and spoiled my mom. I could not ask for a better experience.
I think from a positive standpoint, it was very clean, the facility is physically super nice, and it looks like they had plenty of activities if you wanted to get involved. The downside is if a resident is in need of anything other than bare-minimum assistance it is a problem. They are not able to get to the residents as rapidly as they need to and give them the care that they need. It is a place that leaned more towards independent living rather than assisted living.
