The staff at Park Place was professional and gave a good tour. But the cost was considerably higher, and I just didn't feel a warmth there that I felt at the facility I ultimately moved into.

Review ofGeorgetowne Place
4.6

Georgetowne Place has a very friendly staff. The residents are wonderful, and we are truly a family and help each other out. I now teach a bible study here, and it's growing immensely. People know you by name. And they know me by my dog. I'm the youngest one here, and I do not feel out of place. The building is 40 years old though, and while they do their best to keep it up, I've had some issues. When I turn on my shower it takes me 15 minutes to get hot water. I also had a problem with wet dry wall behind the washer/dryer and furnace. And it took a period of about two months to get that fixed. So I've had some major angst with my apartment, but they did reduce my rent because of it. But comparing it to other facilities in the area, they are probably the biggest bargain. And I can't beat the community. Before I got here, I had mobility limitations and could only walk with a walker to the end of my driveway. Since moving in and working with their PT department, two months later I can walk a mile a day unassisted, and that's just phenomenal. That speaks well to the assistance Georgetowne Place provides.

We had a nice tour with Hamilton Place. The reason we did not choose this facility was because they did not have any rooms with patios/balconies and I wanted my mom to have that so she did not feel cooped up.

This community is definitely worth looking into. They are very considerate of your needs and desires. My parents are very happy and I think your loved ones will be happy too. My loved ones talk about the bingo, card games, and the encouragement from the residents and staff to participate. They also have chapel service once a week and my parents love that. They also have little trips available for residents.

They were absolutely fabulous. They're the real deal. It's not a sales pitch. They do what they say they do. What they say they offer is what they provide. It's legit. They really care here. The manager makes things happen, and she does not waste any time. She puts the residents first, even if there's tough decisions to make. And the staff respect her because she works as hard as they do. Everyone right on down to the maintenance workers are just great. I was my loved one's primary caregiver and was there often, so I got to see these things day in and day out. I can't speak highly enough for them.

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities offer seniors a nice balance between living an independent lifestyle and not having to worry about chores. Basic needs such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is maintained, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they choose, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies differ between communities, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of independent medical professionalls, they may always do so.
