His biggest fear as he aged was having to go into a \"nursing home\". When he reached a point that we knew we had to have more help for him we went and toured Reflections. We were so impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the friendliness of the people! There was a small adjustment period but the staff was very helpful and I can truly say that my dad is well taken care of. That peace of mind is priceless! They truly listen to family feedback and adjust accordingly. The main caregivers for my dad truly care about him and his health. They have become his family when we aren't there visiting and they welcome our family with smiles every visit. My dad was ill recently and the care and concern shown to him was special. They were so attentive! And he couldn't wait to get \"home\" from the hospital! We also love how they include family any time. Family night is wonderful and you can't beat the food! I would say don't set your expectations too high, then you can't be disappointed. My first disappointment was my mom's clothes disappeared. To this day, I don't know what happened to three fourth of her clothes. I was told her clothes would be washed, they were taken, but only a few pieces were returned. Never got an explanation. The communication with the staff could have been better, but oh well. Nothing is perfect. This community is clean and I like the setup - the encouragement mom is given to interact with others. These changes caused interruptions and a decrease in activities and routines. I had high hopes for the programs and services which were not realized due to the constantly changing staff. There were some improvements being made in regular staffing at the time that my mother passed, but they were still without a HealthCare Director. I do feel she was cared for, she had gained weight and the environment and her room were clean. There were some wonderful staff members who were there throughout her stay and they were the only reason she stayed as long as she did.
