Nice facility with plenty of activities

This community is very nice and the staff are friendly. They are currently suffering a shortage and the meals are suffering a bit. Other than this there are many activities and things for the residents to do and participate in daily.

Homestyle Atmosphere

It's a very friendly and open atmosphere. With the restrictions that we have today with Covid, they seem to be really on top of that, which is a plus. The staff have been very pleasant. My loved one has gained a little big of weight since she moved in, so the food is pretty good. She's really enjoying playing bingo but hasn't tried a lot of the other things. I think she would really enjoy the water aerobics. But they offer plenty of opportunities for activities.

Our first impression of the community was that it is very nice, and the rooms provided to the residents are also very nice and spacious.

for the young at heart

If your loved one is mobile and independent this community is located close to lots of shops. The community transportation could be better. They take everyone to different locations so the rides can be very long. I would recommend this community to others.

Beware Wolves in Sheep's clothing

My mother was a resident at Town Village for six years. Unfortunately, she recently had to move to assisted living. Town Village represents to their tenant's that if they are absent from the facility for 5 days they will receive a meal credit on their billing statement. However, they have failed and refused to abide by this policy. They also bill for meal delivery services in a way that is confusing and difficult, if not impossible to dispute. It appears they care more about their bottom line than they do about their tenants. If you care about your loved one I would advise you to proceed with great caution if you are considering Town Village, Vestavia Hills. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing.

Great retirement community and very spacious studio and 1 bedroom apartments. We were looking for assisted living options and not sure the a la cart home health service would fit our needs. Very convenient location.

As good as advertised

Just over two weeks since we moved in. Visited and reviewed a number of places before we chose Town Village. Staff and crew are very helpful and accommodating. Residents are very warm and friendly. Many activities. It appears this will be the right place for us.

We have lived here for a few months now. Lots of changes in rules and dining and staff in a short time. I think some of the unhappy staff needed to go, so not sure that is a bad thing. Some of the staff are very friendly and sweet - other people seem upset that they are working here. All of the exercise activities are early in the day, so if you are more of an afternoon person, you are out of luck. The food service is extremely slow - don't seem to have enough staff. It seems like the management is trying to work on issues and it is tough finding the right kind of staff that enjoy working with elderly. I will update my review if/when improvements are noted. I wish we had looked at more properties before moving here. Seems like once they have the steep move-in fee and you overall your whole life, you are kind of stuck.

They Are Like Most Senior Communities

I was there visiting my mom and it still looks pretty good. As for the meals, the food is not the best but she is eating the meals. One of the problems we have is with her door to her apartment. It is hard for her to open the door with out some type of leverage.

Thank you for your review. I apologize your mom's apartment door is difficult for her to open. We would love to be able to address that issue. Please feel free to call us and let us know which apartment your mom is in. Thank you again.

Our visit

This community offers a continental breakfast and either lunch or dinner. We were looking for a community that offered three meals a day. The community looked clean and the staff we met during our tour were nice.

In the middle of my search I had a visit at this community. It was not the right spot for my mom but they did an alright job showing me the place.

Lots of activities!

I am very pleased so far with everything!I am very independent but I like that they have the care if I need it. I am not participating in activities as much I would like to because I have been busy with selling my home.I like the that they have mini buses that can take me to stores because I won't be driving soon. They bring in a lot of extra activities you wouldn't expect. They bring concerts and choirs in.There is always something to do from in the morning until bed time. I've made lots of friends and try to go in the common areas to meet new people. They have very good food. They do well because they don't have mandatory three meals a day. You choose the meals you want to eat. That works for me because I don't eat three times a day. I chose this community because it is very affordable and I liked what they offer and how it looks. It's also close to family and where I used to live.

"Back Home"!

I have been here one month and am very well pleased. Everything is as presented by Marketing. "Southern Hospitality" shows in everything and everyone. Just the place I was looking for. I lived in Birmingham 18 years ago and am so glad to be "back home".

Fairly Clean!!

The cleanliness of the community could be a little better. When i took a tour of this place the guide provided me with a proper tour of the whole community. He gave me all the information regarding the amenities and the activities that are offered. The staff met along the tour were nice and attentive.

My mom is in Town Village Vestavia Hills. They are very welcoming. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The facility is clean. They could use a little more activities there. Other than that I have no issues with this facility.

We toured the facility during an open house after renovations. The general feeling was upbeat, and the residents were enjoying the various activities and food. The rooms we were shown were immaculate and well appointed.

My 94 year old father is in here. He loves his new home, and I am very happy with it. They have many activities and you can be as active as you want to be. Love the friendliness of all the people and staff. Great place to live
