Excellent Value. Solid Place.
I've lived here for 3 years. The staff is friendly and competent. The food is pretty good, all things considered.[Removed], the head-honcho, is just superb: dedicated, friendly, and responsive, and very hard working. The new Chef [Removed] has been doing a great job with improved menus and organization. The cleaning crew is good and honest, I believe. This place is not overly fancy, but also quite affordable. Most of the residents are independent living, but services for those needing more help are available at a price above the base rent. Good choice if you're not looking for supreme luxury and the concomitant high cost.

I toured this community and wasn't impressed. The dining room is outdated, overall appearance wasn't clean, stains on the ceiling tiles. The smell wasn't pleasant and overall it didn't look well kept. Also, the rooms were just one room, no small kitchen or appliances. The cost was comparable to other places that were better and had more to offer. We chose to keep looking.

A Fair establishment
The establishment is very outdated and there is one garbage location for several rooms. The garbage is always over flowing or full. My fathers room is as far away from the cafeteria as possible. It is literally the farthest away. Since there were so many rooms open it would have been nice for us to have the option to choose one of the since some are larger. Overall: The establishment is fair but needs updates. I recommend other amenities such as ab option for cable that the residents can pay a monthly fee if they would like to have it. Also, the décor is very outdated and needs to be updated.

Great place!
My brother [Removed] lived there for 2 1/2 years. I can't say enough good things about this facility. He had a lot of health needs but was able to be there and maintain a good amount of independence. The staff were always attentive to him and responsive to me. They helped us find wonderful aides who were able to assist him with things that he couldn't do and this allowed him to be as independent as possible. The staff are very caring and personable. The food was home cooked and he raved about it all the time. There were a number of activities and the residents always seemed very social with one another. It was very home like and affordable.

A great place for Mom
My 96 year old Mother was there for a year and a half , and she was very pleased with her room, her care, the activities, the food, the friendliness of staff, care givers, and other residence's. She felt right at home in a short time, and fell into a comfortable routine. We are very pleased with all the care and attention that was shown to our Mother, and would recommend Tinley Court to anyone.

Review of Tinley Retirement Community - Tinley Park, IL
For the past two years, my Aunt Harriet was a resident of Tinley Court. It was a very big decision to move her from her condo...but it was the best decision we made. I had visited many senior living facilities...but none of them had the love and kindness that the residence receive at Tinley Court. They really care...all of the staff...I can't thank you enough for everything you did not only for my aunt but for myself and our family. The care is sincere. It is like a big family that looks out for each other. The events are creative and makes the residence feel special. You are always greeted with a smile and sometimes a hug. Again, I thank all of the staff for their kindness and care for my Aunt.

Review of Tinley Retirement Community - Tinley Park, IL
Two of the hardest decisions in my life happened, when my mother, Marion, after 17 years of living alone after my father's passing, could no longer live on her own. First was to tell mom, and second was to find a place for mom to live that would fill all our wants and needs.
After looking at five places, my wife and I chose Tinley Court. The big lobby with fireplace, large dining room, library & tv room, activities room, and friendly caring staff all helped in deciding the right place for her to be.
At first mom wasn't too happy having to move, but after a few months,, she began making friends, talking to many of the residents and socializing. She found a passion in the activities room doing picture puzzles and even helped other residents who had a hard time doing the puzzles. some of her puzzles were framed and hang in the hallway of the building. another was framed and hung in her room, which she was so proud of.
Getting back to Tinley Court, the staff there is incredible. They go out of their way with smiles and always seemed to care to please the residents and their families. In my visits, I saw the staff interact with many of the residents. They handled each and every one, all with different personalities, with care and compassion.
Sadly to say, after three years at Tinley Court, my mom became suddenly ill and passed. The staff was amazing through this tough time, showing so much care and understanding to us and for mom. I believe, by their conversations with us, how much they truly loved and cared for her, and will miss her. They were her family, as she was theirs.
After speaking with one of my mom's friends, a classmate from many many years ago, I found out that my mom told her that these years at Tinley Court were some of the happiest times of her life.
So thank you to Tinley Court for making mom's last 3 years so fantastic. Also a great big thank you from me and my wife for making our tough decision a great one. We always felt very secure and didn't have to worry about her. The staff always cared about her in so many special ways, and to mom, Tinley Court was home.

Review of Tinley Retirement Community - Tinley Park, IL
We would love to reiterate how much we love our mother living at Tinley Court. The past several years were wonderful for our mother and our family; since moving Juanita into Tinley Court, everyone has been happy with her living arrangements.
Everyone at Tinley Court from the office staff to the housekeepers, maintenance & kitchen staff have always been AWESOME!!!
Although there were a couple of bumps along the road on both sides: I again apologize for the bumps I caused. We would certainly allow our mom to live at Tinley Court all over again!
Thanks to everyone for your continued patience and understanding. As I said before I will continue to highly recommend Tinley Court to anyone and everyone.
No one knowns how long mom will be at Tinley Court but as long as she wants to be there, we will make sure she stays there!
Thanks again to the entire staff at Tinley Court!!

I speak for Dorothy and myself when I tell you that the words on this card tells what is in my heart. Mike and I sure made the right decision when mom came to live at Tinley Courts.
Whether her TV couldn't work, or the never-ending phone problems or maybe just being there in the middle of the night - you all were there for her and me! Words can never express how grateful I am for all of you.
Dorothy wasn't the only lucky one. I have made friendships that I plan to continue! I might even bring all those grandkids along too!
I am comforted by knowing she is with her husband and children who went before her, but I miss her. I thank God for all the work you do for all the residents and ask God to keep giving you the spirit to keep on giving ~

Tinley Court is a very special place with a caring staff and a nice living environment. The residents are generally nice as well. Kathy is the new administrator who took over in August. She has made a tremendous difference. She is kind, gentle, and very competent. She addresses the resident's issues -- physical plant and living issues as quickly as she can. She demonstrates love. The second in command is Cindi who is also of very high caliber. She is ostensibly the marketing director but she wears many hates and is very pleased to roll up her sleeves and attack any problem with fortitude. Among the senior staff is CID the activities director. She is just excellent all around and extremely intelligent and creative. I think she does just a wonderful job. I could list many other staff since so many deserve a pat on the back but there is just not enough space to include everyone. In closing I think Tinley Court is just top notch given its modest price structure.

The staff is friendly...
The staff is friendly and the the facility is clean. They have quite a few games for the activities, but they don't have any outings. They only have outings like twice a month. If your relative needs a lot of care, I wouldn't recommend the Tinley Court Retirement. They were suppose to give my loved one showers and more overall care. Their washing machines were broken for two weeks and we had to bring our loved ones clothes home to wash them.
