RUN

It has taken me 2 months to get control of my anger regarding Thrives management or the lack there of of their memory care unit known as Hopeland! Multiple meetings, texts and phone calls to try and give them the benefit of the doubt and work out their kinks as they were new.... well, no luck..... they have no business running a memory care unit! The food and portions were pitiful and after meeting with “The so called Chef” to double my fathers portions were disregarded and my requests were not met was only one of the many disappointments of our stay here. I gave them a year to fix issues and finally moved my dad out of there. My father went two weeks with no shower, no undergarment changing or any of the other residents.... it is one giant FAKE dog and pony show over there and all about appearing on social media as THE PROMISED LAND..... DO NOT BE FOOLED! Do your homework and put a camera in your loved ones room if Thrive is your only option for memory care!

Response from Thrive at Augusta

November 18, 2022

Dear Kim, While we understand that we are unable to change your perception of our community, please know it is never our intent to disappoint our families or the residents for whom we care so deeply. As a senior living community, it is our team’s mission to enrich the lives of those who are no longer able to stay in their own homes. We stand by our commitment to providing exceptional care and support for our residents each and every day. Our team members work hard to meet their needs and are always willing to provide additional assistance if a resident requires it, including modified nutritional plans. If concerns arise from any family, we conduct a rigorous internal investigation to ensure we are doing right by our resident -- and their family. We firmly believe in treating all of our residents with dignity and respect. We enjoyed having your father at Thrive at Augusta, and we were certainly sad to see him leave. The Thrive at Augusta team

I toured this community and it was a lovely facility. The grounds/facility is beautiful. They offer in house PT care, which is great. They mentioned that they were working to increase family participation. I would recommend them for assisted living, but they're not really set up for dementia care.

Response from Thrive at Augusta

September 30, 2022

Thank you for your feedback and for touring our community. We so appreciate your kind words! We take great pride in our community and creating a beautiful place that our residents can call home. We recognize the vital role we play in ensuring that older adults live purposeful lives. Each week, I communicate with our residents’ families sharing wonderful stories and updates as well as inviting them to attend various events. We always have daughters, sons, and grandchildren visiting. It is truly one big family! We do also offer Memory Care in our community. We have a dedicated neighborhood for those precious older adults living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other forms of changing cognitive abilities. We continually provide NIDE (National Institute for Dementia Education) training to our team to ensure our residents receive the best care possible. If you would like to explore this further, we welcome meeting with you again. You can reach out to Sharon Norsworthy, Community Relations Director, at Sharon.Norsworthy@ThriveAtAugusta.com. She would be happy to provide you with additional information. Melita Winnick Community President

Thrive is a very organized and well put together community. I love how they emphasize the well being of the resident. Their staff is personable, kind, and helpful every step of the way. Welcome Home!!!

What an incredible community! And what an amazing welcome from the very moment you arrive in the property. The gently winding road takes you past the horse paddock, stable and fishing ponds and opens up to beautifully designed community reminiscent of my childhood Summers. The staff and residents that gather on the front porch greet you with smiles as you enter into such a well appointed and beautifully decorated home. Nothing too over the top but definitely hits all of the marks. It almost feels as though you are at a laid-back resort with all of the homey feels. That is the experience that I get every time I go to the property. The energy is positive and upbeat and activities abound. There is also ample opportunity to just relax and take in the environment. Gentle music fills the halls and a warm or cool beverage is always at the ready. The staff are very attentive and treat their residents with dignity and respect. This is definitely a place to call home.

Thrive at Augusta offers Studio, 1 Bedroom and 2 Bedrooms. Learn more.

A Place for Mom has scored Thrive at Augusta 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
