Dirty rooms, old building, cna's standing around on phones ignoring residents. Office management never available or never have any idea of what you're talking about. Food used to be good but lately is very disgusting. ALL kinds of people mixed in here. Crazy, street people, lots of stealing. Dont put a loved one in here unless you hate them!

Honestly this place is not for you. The staff are always leaving and no one knows when or where your CNA is. Call wait times are insanely long. The food is not of the best quality. The clients are given 90 a month for expenses. They end up using this to cover cost insurance doesn't. They are harrassed into applying for Link which is used to offset kitchen costs. Surprisingly this is totally legal. No one pays the same but everyone receive the same room unless it's a double. Those people pay more. The staff try their best but are often mistreated or yelled at by management. Promises are made but never kept. Please do your research about these places. Slips and falls are very chronic. No one here is above an LPN. The elevators have constant issues. The turnover rate is terrible. Ask a resident alone away from staff if they are happy. Smoking is forbidden but happens in rooms all the time. People w Dementia are mixed on the same floor as people with Psychiatric issues. I beg you please ask to see state logs on places before you settle. Do not believe everything you see. Also find out the number for Senior Care and double check the legal system.

Staffing is an issue and never consistent. Care of residents is subpar as a result of staffing I.e. laundry not done, cleaning of rooms is infrequent, etc. Only a few employees show they care.

We placed our mother at The Vistas because they would allow her to keep her cat. Based on her experience and on our observations, we would NOT recommend this very business-minded supported living program unless very close and regular monitoring of the placed resident is carried out by a team of family, friends and advocates. With exception of a receptionist and few inconsistent responses to basic concerns by the director and associates, overall, our questions and suggestions to work with us to better support our mother were not considered in a consistent or caring manner. Management and staff generally seemed unconcerned, dismissive and lacked attention to detail. Reasonable responsiveness in areas of medical, daily life skill retention and quality of life support issues were not carried out. For example, call buttons when rarely pushed were not responded to in a reasonably timely manner and during a visit, one time taking 45 minutes for a CNA to respond. Our mother reported being yelled at a couple of times by staff for not being up, or being too slow to take medications. During visits, we frequently found medication that was to be administered to our mother clearly in tact and on the floor or under furniture. This was reported several times. Management demonstrated a base business, dollars and cents demeanor. Resident accounting staff did not at all appear to utilize best practices. At best, they appeared unorganized as they made extremely contradicting statements within short spans of time when asked about our mom's account. Mother passed within months of moving to The Vistas of Fox Valley. We were provided a 14 day window to clear out all of her personal belongings, which we did well before the final date, leaving her room much more clean than when she moved in. During the final clearing and cleaning phase, a management representative walked in without as much as a knock, and matter of factly stated that her bed and TV were theirs, and nothing more. This was completely untrue and we were required to prove it, which we did. This is only one example of the standard and insensitive communication style at The Vistas of Fox Valley.

Everything is going just fine! The staff do what they can to make my father feel comfortable, and the facility looks very nice. We visited other facilities, but this seemed to be the best one! We are very pleased.

My father's medical needs became to hard for him and I to manage but he enjoys living independently. The staff takes wonderful care of him and helps in every aspect, but he still has his freedoms and privacy!

At that time I was gathering prices, they were more expensive and the nursing side had extra cost. Everything was fine from what I observed with the cleanliness and the resident care. The woman who gave me the tour and she did a very good job.

This place is horrible! I wish I could give it 0 stars. My family member was living here and everything from the cleanliness to the food were terrible. All the people living here just sit around doing nothing. The nurses and aids were fine but the management staff are terrible people with big attitudes who seem to never be available or are never there.

So far it has gone so good. I need a place for my dad in the area for a short time. He is ready to leave the assistance living, they good staff while he was there. After assessing him they were willing and open to take him in for the short time. The person I met with was fine but when your coming in and moving there was not a lot of welcoming. They can have things coordinated.

One thing that i love about the community is the perfect location it's in. The place has been updated and it looks great. The staff is very friendly and communicate very well. My aunt has mentioned that the meals are good and they make her what she likes from the menu. Most importantly she is in a place where she feels safe.

My mom has lived here for almost 4 years. I think its an older building but well taken care of. She is extremely happy here - she loves her room or apartment and loves the staff. She also really enjoys the activities (bingo shopping trips dinner trips shows). I have been very pleased with how well the staff gets back to me and whenever I have a question or request it has always been responded to. There is a resident head nurse and nursing staff that is always available if needed. I sleep easier knowing my mom is well cared for and happy. I recommend Aurora Supportive Living The Vistas. Please feel free to contact me with questions.
