I would say absolutely sign your loved one up and get them in there as soon as you can! Everybody was friendly. When you walk into a place like that, you expect a certain smell, but there was none of that. It smelled like they were making homemade cookies. Everyone was so o nice, and they took the proper Covid precautions, including requiring masks. The nursing staff was helpful, even if it wasn't a nurse assigned specifically to my mom. The food was okay, pretty good for the setting. The only gripe I have is I was charged a several thousand dollar move-in cost, and we had to move ourselves in entirely. They didn't even have a dolly for us to use. Also, the people who live there were walking in the hallways, so if you were standing there with a heavy piece of furniture, you had to wait for them to move out of the way. I would have expected for that move-in fee for someone to at least hold the door for us and clear the way. Aside from that move-in fee, the cost was good for the care they provided to my mom.

What stands out to me the most is the staff is very responsive and empathetic. We're very happy with the apartment my loved one is in. It has everything he needs, and it's comfortable. The other residents I've encountered have been very friendly. And the food is good. It's just really well prepared. The meat is done but not dry. The mashed potatoes taste like mashed potatoes. It's high quality and served hot.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff are able to respond to questions or concerns, sometimes there is a delay with getting back to the family. They are willing to greet and assist with giving the phone to my loved one when I call. The community is located in a neighborhood, and during the summer it would be nice to see plants and maintain the lawn.

Our family had an in person tour and the lady who gave the tour was very nice and informational but the community was just to expensive. We also go very confused on the tour with all the different floors we felt like we just kept going up and down and were getting lost. We did not like the layout of the rooms, and the community just seemed to be not as bright. The wood tones were darker, the lighting was darker and just to dim.

Our loved one were there for 10 years, and unfortunately had to leave because they did not accept medicaid. However, it was kept very clean, the staff were very nice and did a really good job keeping up with all the changes in the protocols. They constantly checked everyone's temperatures and kept families up to date. It is a cooperate community so much bigger with more residents. Our loved one did say the meals were kind of a draw back, they changed vendors and when that happened the meals sort of declined.

When our mother became very ill, we all agreed she needed nursing care and we didn’t have time to look at options. Mom has always been very social with energy to spare. 3 years later, Mom was still in nursing care but had made a recovery that told us she needed to have her life back. We found Asbury court and, though it’s only been a short time, she is her old self. At 94 she is newly alive! our salesman, our 1st contact answered all our questions and allayed our fear that independence for Mom might only be a wish. Everyone we have come in contact with has been so kind and compassionate. Each new experience for Mom has come with encouragement and understanding from whatever staff member has been involved. She looks forward to all the activities that are offered and the independence she loves so well, knowing that if she needs help with anything it’s there. We are all breathing a big sigh of relief and so happy to see Mom smiling again.
