I would not recommend The Preserve at Palm Aire for anyone seeking Independent Living arrangements. There are no separate areas for the Independent folks. The management allows the Assisted Living people to come into the supposedly Independent L. areas at will, including the Independent Living dining room, even though they have their own dining room. It is very DEPRESSING to see all these walkers and motorized scooters everywhere and residents being fed by aides that are not supposed to be in the dining room and drooling over their food. The facilities are nice and the price is good but it has the atmosphere of a nursing home not a smart Independent Living facility. Also, the management does nothing about the many legitimate complaints that everyone has. They have excuses for everything. Especially the food! They are serving us cafeteria grade food, not cooked right, cold when served, strange recipes, and running out before the dining time is over. The complainers are labeled "trouble makers." No I would not recommend The Reserve at Palm Aire. Come see for yourself at 4:30 some evening. An independent Living Resident

Thank you for your review. It is true that we have a wide variety of ages and abilities amongst our residents, as we believe that our residents should be able to age in their home. We are glad that you continue to be a part of The Preserve Family and hope that you do take comfort in knowing that if you one day require the use of a walker or scooter, we will allow you the same courtesy. We do care about resident concerns and have formed the Food Committee to make sure that resident concerns are heard. As an alternate on this committee, your continued input will be greatly appreciated.
I’m a resident of The Preserve at Palm Aire. I agree with everything Run Don’t Walk says about the place. I’m sitting in my hallway right now with no air conditioning while the housekeeper cleans my apartment. She was on vacation last week so nobody came to clean. I called the Front Desk to report the lack of air conditioning & nobody answered. The dining room & the wait staff are nice although we usually have to wait a long time to be seated & served. Good gym & activities & the entertainment staff tries hard. The buildings & grounds are beautiful. My big criticism is that the general, housekeeping & dining room administrators are unavailable & unresponsive to the residents.Reviewed on A Place For Mom
I visited this community with my mother who is considering independent living. The staff was friendly and I noticed many residents out and about engaged in activities throughout the community. My mother felt very comfortable there which is the key to success on this move for her. The dining room was very nice and we reviewed a sample menu that was befitting of a five star restaurant. The apartments were nicely laid out with some updates. My mother loved the lanai that overlooked the preserve areas. Grounds were well maintained. Overall it was a great experience.Reviewed on SeniorAdvisor.com
