Our families experience
My Mom actually ended up only staying at the Courtyard for about 2 months before moving to another Assisted Living Facility. I felt sad at the time because we were certainly hoping it would be longer, but there were a couple of circumstances that happened that didn't work for her to stay longer. The staff as far as the director, and residency coordinator, were super nice and helpful, and I felt really went out of their way to help her move in and accommodate her needs, etc. Her room was spacious and accommodations beautiful, and most of the staff seemed very caring. I had asked in her care plan to have staff check on her regularly and they accommodated that without an issue. The main issues came with the meals, the main cook was out for a medical leave and apparently the back up cooks were not good at all. But in addition to that my Mom said the portions were super small, the meals were served very dry, and other residents were literally afraid to complain. My Mom also relied an incidence where a resident was moved to another dining table without asking her, and when she asked why she was yelled at and made to cry. I found that very upsetting. My Mom also had some issues (mainly with night staff) where they were accusing her of breaking rules she said didn't happen and overall it was an uncomfortable experience for my Mom. Ultimately we made the choice to Find another place for her, but my Mom has expressed her concern for the residents who are still there mainly about the terrible food and lack of food.

The culinary team and management team are always monitoring the satisfaction of the residents and seek their suggestions for ways to make our meals even more appealing and tasty. Our portion sizes are based on Dietary Guidelines for Americans and we always offer 2nds and alternative meals.

I think that the places don't seem as great as what they can be while your loved one is adjusting during the initial process .
But once settled in and more acclimated to the new living situation things tend to start getting better over time.

We had a very good tour at The Courtyard at Oshkosh. Our tour guide was very friendly and very knowledgeable - I was impressed with them. Compared to other places we toured, this one reminded me more of a nursing home though, and it wasn’t quite as upscale. But it was a very clean facility.

My Uncle was a resident at The Courtyard at Oshkosh. The minute I walked in and toured the facility, I knew in my heart that my Uncle would be happy there. All residents have their own apartment. He was on the memory care side. He was indeed very pleased with The Courtyard. He enjoyed the meals, especially pizza day. He also spent a lot of time outside on the patio. He liked the sun. Weather permitting he went out there daily. I have to say that was a big important point to me, The patio and all the big windows in the facility. It is very bright and warm and inviting. The staff are so very kind and compassionate. They do try their hardest to be respectful of each and every resident. They do have special training on the memory care side which comes in handy. To Know all the staff at The Courtyard At Oshkosh is to know people who are kind, considerate, and thoughtful. It truly is a beautiful facility. I will always be so thankful that I choose The Courtyard for my uncle.

Okay, But Needs Improvement
I would not recommend you come to The Courtyard. They are now giving my loved one a bath once a week; however, it took a month to get this to happen. My loved one likes some of the other residents.
The food is not as good as it could be. It seems to be getting better since they are in the dining room.
The community is only getting the Moderna booster and they told me that I had to make arrangements to take my loved one to get the other booster.

Gorgeous facility, friendly and caring staff!
Toured The Courtyard at Oshkosh today for my mom and I could not be more pleased with all that I saw! The facility is decorated so beautifully and I noticed right away how clean it was. The residents were laughing and joking during exercise class while I was touring and the exercise instructor was very knowledgeable. During the tour, they showed me the daily and weekly activity calendar and I was surprised to see how many different activities there were to chose from. I also liked that I was greeted by a friendly smile when I first walked in and a friendly goodbye as I was leaving. We will definitely be moving my mom here I can't wait to see her happy and safe.

Wonderful Home!
My husband has been a resident for a year. The staff check on him regularly, treat him with respect and find ways to engage him socially. The atmosphere and food are like a five star hotel.
