Sunrise of New City is a resort-style, pet-friendly retirement community with an Enhanced Senior Living License — allowing for the highest level of care to be provided, so residents can age in place easily. Our community provides assisted living services, medication management, memory care, and assists with hospice care coordination through Hospice of Rockland and Calvary Hospice. Another community bonus is that we’re conveniently located by Nyack Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, the local Veteran’s Assistance office, movie theaters, delicious restaurants, and shopping areas.
We also offer a variety of intergenerational activities for residents to get involved in. We’ve built close relationships with local organizations like the Hebrew schools, Boy Scouts, and others. Many children regularly join our community for activities and sometimes sing for residents.
Our skilled team members focus on providing personalized care, so you receive a tailored senior living experience across your variety of needs. For example, we’ve created a program called The View specially designed to assist those who are blind or visually impaired. Also, our family engagement app is supportive and helpful and allows us to send families personal videos and photos of their loved ones, as well as community updates to ensure families remain...

We chose Sunrise of new City because I had a number of people recommend it to us and it was in a convenient location for our family. The room sizes are really nice. According to my dad it is very seldom that the meals are served hot. But overall I would recommend them .
I like it because it's very close to me. I could speak to my loved one on the phone. They had a system of visiting, but when the pandemic was very high, we had to talk through a window downstairs. These are really hard times, it's difficult to judge what would be happening with no pandemic. It's a beautiful community, with several buildings with grassy areas and flowers during the warmer weather. I haven't been able to go inside the entire time, except for a limited visiting area where we could sit 6 feet apart. It looked like the front staircase was very prettily decorated during the Christmas holiday. I've been happy with my interaction with the staff overall. Most of the time they returned phone calls as soon as possible. They were very, very pleasant. My only issue has been with the pharmaceutical company they use - I ended up having to spend a lot of money because they did not take our insurance and Sunrise would not allow us to get our meds elsewhere. One thing I loved was very week the executive director would send out an email to the families to let them know how the week was going, including the current Covid situation. They were very transparent about any Covid occurrences. If I had wanted to go up to my loved one's room, they offered to allow us to do so after a Covoid test, but we opted not to do that.
We both liked this place. Feels very welcoming an homey. They seem to cater over and above for their clients. Only drawback, apartment is very small.
I talk to our loved one quite a lot and she seems to be happy here at Sunrise of New City. The staff members seem to be on top of things. We have not been able to visit but I would recommend to others looking.
I would recommend this community and has recommend this wonderful community to others. Sunrise has been very welcoming, kind, and family oriented. I am so grateful for this community, and it has been a great journey and now consider the staff as friends.
This facility is very expensive. The rooms sizes are very good, and the food was pretty good. I would recommend this facility to others
We chose Sunrise of new City because of the location, it would be close so we could visit. His room size here is very good. My dad seems to be very happy with the food. The best part about the community so far would be the staff members, my dad speaks very highly of them. They started window visits in July and they recently started face to face visits in the breezeway of the facility. I would recommend it.
Sunrise was expensive for what was being provided. The management was very competent and the nursing staff was very helpful. Her apartment was renovated when she moved in. Never had a problem with the staff, they were good. The food was very ok, and a little tasteless but other than that, fine. They were very professional.
Extremely helpful staff, wonderful setting. Can't say enough good things about everyone here!
I had made an appointment last week to view one bedroom apartments for my 96 year old father, We were very specific in our request for only one bedrooms and and absolutely not a studio. [Name removed] had told us that there were in fact two one bedroom to be viewed. We confirmed with her on Friday On Saturday I brought my 96 year old father from Manhattan to view the apartments with the intention of choosing on and signing the contract. [Name removed], all excited to see us shows us the one and only one apartment available,: a tiny studio. She then admitted that she has LIED to us to try and “sell” Us the studio . We had made this long trip with my father all for nothing. My father turned to [name removed] and said How could I ever trust you with anything At all costs STAY AWAY from these con artists Go to [community removed], wonderful new establishment with honest wonderful staff. Sunrise should be ashamed to treat elderly people with such indifference and disrespect. Nightmare Experience
