We have had pigeon problems making nests on the balconies. Have had issues with assistance with biweekly cleaning. Everyone has been personable welcoming. The staff posture is they are the guests at the facility. We have had a learning curve to fully understand the care. Once we determined what care was covered by insurance it became easier to make decisions. Love that medical is on site. My mother doesn't need to leave the building for doctor appointments nor physical therapy. The residents tend to complain about the menu since its a 4 star chef creating the menu. Most are expecting restaurant quality... which it is but its a step up. Its stretching their comfort zone. My mother loves having dinner with her friends daily. Over the top activities. Something is always on the schedule. The residents are encouraged to join in but not forced. My mother is a social butterfly and she is in her element. Rent is more than standard rent for square footage in the area. In my opinion its overpriced. If my mother wasn't participating in the activities I would be looking for another location. She loves her apartment and her new friends. When I found Story Point(then Sycamore Retreat) I knew this would be our answer with our transition to Ohio. Mom is so much more happier, mentally healthier and has so much fun. She has her independence but, she also has security. I really believe placing her at SP actually extended her health and life.
