Independent Living

An Independent Living Community permits residents the chance to live an independent lifestyle while ensuring their essential needs have been fulfilled. Residents may use their free time as they desire while their meals are prepared by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and social activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they prefer. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are a number of benefits and expenditures to keep in mind while selecting an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in the service plan: wellness program, cable TV, utilities, meals, initial assessment fee, private phone, transportation, and Waiting list deposit. The luxuries that pertain to independent living include private rental hall, security guards, restaurant-style dining hall, transportation, laundry service, golf course, concierge services, and fitness center & swimming pool.
