The community her for the care of my father. The meals are outstanding. We are happy that he is active with the activities and he is participating. Outstanding care for dad

Not What I Expected
The tour went well at this community. I got a friendly feeling from the staff and they were a good staff. They helped me see the community and answered all my questions. On my tour I saw a shared bathroom and that was not fitting for our needs.

Excellent People!!
The spencer Place is a good community so far. The staff has been very friendly and attentive, except for one incident where my loved one had to wait 3 hours for her pain medication. Breakfast is her favorite meal of the day, the rest don't have a very good taste to them. The place is pretty expensive but overall a good community.

Not Very Happy
The Spencer place was a beautiful comfortable community. I had already made a deposit and my aunt was all ready to be moved in on Saturday when we received a call from the community Friday night, saying that they did not think this community would be a good fit for her. The lady that called was very apologetic and sincere but it just did not seem fair to me.

Great Community!
The staff at Spencer Place are helpful and friendly. The community is a great place. I would live there if I was looking for a community. The chef does a wonderful job. I have eaten meals at Spencer Place several times and they are outstanding.

Trial run
Decided on Spencer Place as facility for my mother's respite stay of 3 weeks. Tried it out for an afternoon and I was happy with it but Mom said she did not want to go back. Well, we did for a 3 night respite stay. Staff was not quite prepared for us as I had expected. Some confusion plus I was in a hurry. Well, it ends up Mom would not participate in anything and spent the weekend in bed. Something I had feared. Staff was pleasant but we will not be returning.

He had to be hospitalized twice while he was there and has since moved out and we most recently went over to get his clothes and stuff like that, but then they said that some of his affects were Spencer Place's property, which they were not. He was not there long, but I also gave them his medications and they did not give those back either.

My loved one has only been here a short time, but so far our experience has been a good one. It is a nice looking facility, and the staff is communicative and helpful.

Toured
I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. It was a very small, tight knit feeling community. The facility itself was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. We ended up selecting another community, but this is somewhere I would have considered as an option for my loved one.

They are doing great.
They are doing great. All in all I would say everything is great. It could maybe be a little quicker seeing the doctor in the beginning. It's clean, and the staff is friendly, and they have addressed anything that has come up. We are pretty pleased with them.

they go above and beyond
I think Spencer Place goes above and beyond. The staff has given my in-laws tremendous help and support through some difficult situations. Their nursing staff is very friendly and professional.
The only area of improvement I can think to recommend, is the rooms are dark and should have better lighting (especially since older people don't see well) and there is a bit of a foul odor at times in one of the hallways.
They really do an excellent job though and I would definitely recommend them.

Home away from home
Spencer Place is a home away from home for those not ready for skilled nursing, but can no longer stay alone. The staff is caring and loving. Food is very good, activities are varied and geared to residents enjoyment and interests. It is not large, so there is a feeling of family and caring for each other among the residents. Families of residents are made to feel welcome at any time.

A Place For Mom
Spencer Place exceeded my expectations. We were looking for a place for my mom and Cindy from "A Place For Mom"
recommended Spencer Place. It is an extention of your home. From the moment you walk in the door you feel right at home. Everyone is so nice and helpful. It shows because a lot of the people have been there for years because they enjoy their jobs and what they do for others. It is clean and the food is really home made. I was very impressed with the courtyard. It is so bright and cheery to be able to go outside and enjoy the beautiful flowers and grounds. I can't say enough about Spencer Place! It has truly been a blessing for us to have found this place.

No perfect place
My loved one fell out of bed twice while there. The communication from the staff wasn’t great. There didn’t seem to be communication between shifts. I know there’s no perfect place. It was just my experience.

My mom really likes it - so I would recommend it.
It’s a clean, friendly place. My mom really likes it - so I would recommend it. The food was pretty good. They have variety. I’ve eaten there 3 -4 times. The way the building is set up is good for people with dementia. It’s oblong and there is an interior courtyard. It’s one floor and well lit which was important to me.

Great!!
We like the people, the staff is incredible. They make me feel welcome ever I go to visit my mom and my mom is doing fabulous. She really hasn't had any complaints. Everybody's just been wonderful. I like the woman that greets us and the staff always gives me a hug. The activities have been wonderful. My mother says the food is really good. I haven't tasted it but she says it great. I've just really liked it. I can't say I've noticed anything they can improve on. I like that they have gone in and updating everything and my mom likes it. No complaints!
