Enjoy the best that sunny California can offer, at award-winning Solano Life House in Dixon. We are 20 miles away from Sacramento, and close to several restaurants and shopping areas. We’re also just minutes away from scenic Hall Memorial Park.
Smaller than some large facilities, but larger than a board and care home, our 38-bed, ranch-style community focuses on letting our residents enjoy all that life has to offer. Our calendar encompasses a wide variety of activities and outings, so there is something for everyone’s interests. Plus, veterans may be eligible for certain benefits to help offset the cost of care.
At Solano Life House, we like to keep busy with lots of local excursions and community involvement, and encourage our active residents to take trips in our van and explore the surrounding area with us. For those who are unable to join us, we’ll bring the community to them! We invite a variety of guests, including school-aged children, musicians, and even pet therapy services.
It’s important to us that all residents of everyone in Solano Life House are treated with dignity and respect. We have a secure building for the safety of our residents who need memory...

During the time our loved one was there we had a good experience, and we could see the activities though the windows and they looked to be pretty good.
We had a very good experience with Solano Life House. They met all of our needs and were very caring and informative. The communication from the staff members was great and they always kept me in the loop. I would absolutely recommend this community, we couldn't have asked for a better group of people.
My mother has been at Solano Life House for 3 years. The staff is outstanding. They love her when I can't be there. They truly care and love all the residents. They have done an outstanding job during the covid crisis. No cases. They are the best.
Both my parents are residents of Solano Life House. My parents are Spanish-speaking, so when I was looking for a care facility, it was a must that they had Spanish-speaking staff. Solano Life House has Spanish-speaking staff on every shift and I can feel better knowing they can communicate their needs. All staff at Solano Life House have been so nice and I see how well they take care of my parents, they truly care for them and their needs.
My family was very pleased with the care that my mother received and I would recommend Solano Life House to anyone who wants their loved one to get excellent care.
My wife [name removed] has been a resident for 3 months. The care has been excellent. The entire staff seems to take a personal interest in the resident and keeps you informed of any changes and progress in their care.
I have both parents living at SLH. Their being well-taking care of and the staff goes above and beyond to care for me.
We chose Solano Life House because it was recommended to us. It is a smaller community so the care is more individualized. They do a lot of activities even with COVID going on. They take my dad out in a car with two of his friends and drive them around with masks on so that they can get out. They also do outdoor concerts for the residents. My favorite part about the community so far has been that everybody knows everyone. If I call, they know me by name. I would definitely recommend this community.
Both of my parents are residents of SLH. I met and visited SLH twice before deciding to have my parents live there, on both occasions I was greeted friendly by all staff members. My parents are Spanish speaking and SLH has staff members that speak Spanish and I wanted my parents to be able to communicate their needs and wants. I visit 2-3 times a week and I see that my parents are being well cared for. In the Short time that my parents have been living there I’ve got to know many of the staff members and I have to say they have all been wonderful and they go above and beyond to care for my parents.
My neighbor, once the neighborhood welcome wagon could no longer efficiently take care of herself so the choice was made to find an assisted living environment for her. She was moved into a caring facility called Solano Life House. At first she was a little shy but the warm, caring staff embraced her from the onset and soon she was involved in the many daily SLH activities and interacting with fellow residents and dedicated staff like the neighbor I knew. Solano Life House offers a positive, nurturing environment for our loved ones, dear friends or acquaintances. I highly recommend Solano Life House. SLH understands the individualism and needs of each and every resident. They truly care. Outings, activities, celebrations, events, barbecues, music, games are just part of life at Solano Life House. Very nice rooms too!
I had mistakenly moved my Mom into a corporate place that promised the moon but quickly found they could not deliver the care she needed. I needed to move her and fast! I toured Solano Life House, met the manager, [name removed] and many of the care staff. After the previous place, we were looking for anything negative before moving my Mom again... but we found nothing. My Mom had many problems from her stroke and had dementia setting in. Solano Life House knew exactly how to provide the best, supportive, loving care for her. They even taught ME how to better understand her illnesses. Most importantly [name removed], [name removed] and the med techs. directed me to highly qualified medical professionals to address Mom's problems. I visited Mom a lot. Each time I would come, she was being loved on, talked to and engaged to her current capacity. It always surprised me to see the amount of teamwork that went on in order to provide the best love and care from the staff, not just for Mom, but for all the residents. There were many debilitated residents but I would see happy, smiling faces fully engaged with many activities. The food is truly home cooking and GOOD! One day my Mom had missed breakfast and lunch due to an illness. When she finally was ready to eat, I asked the kitchen for something mild, like soup, and the chef said she would make her some. I said to just open a can, like Campbells or something. She said, "that's not healthy! I will make her some chicken, vegetable soup. It will be ready in 45 minutes," and it was. By the time we got Mom up, she was eating her healthy, homemade soup! There are many outings for capable residents like Farmers markets, church, nail and hair salons. For others with difficulties, there are frequent visitations by kids from a nearby school, singers, entertainers, piano player etc. The staff also plans many events for the residents to participate in - for example, 4th of July, Taco night, Thanksgiving, just to name a few. The setting is as close to family as I could have found. When I left for the day, I knew my Mom was WELL taken care of! Unfortunately, Mom recently passed away. I came in several times after and received lots of hugs, along with tears from the staff. Several said to me, "Losing them is the hardest part of the job, because we love them too."
Over the years has been very good no complaints. Pretty good with communication. Care for mom's attitude cheerfulness always been good. Try diligently to do their part when others don't necessarily do. Fun to come to outings. Facilities staff is always clean. Food is fabulous!
I like Solano Life House. The people who work there are all very kind and professional. No complaints.
Staff is kind and very professional.
Our mother has been at this facility since [date removed]. The location is very convenient for her daughters to be here to stay involved in her care. The administration has been great in addressing any issues or problems that have needed attention. Facility is clean, great food and care staff treats you like family.
SLH has been a very good fit for my mom, [name removed]. For the most part, she enjoys living here. The staff and really good with her. She doesn't complain to me about much with SLH. I only wish there were more cognitive residents for mom to talk with.
Wonderful place for my husband of 54 years. The care is outstanding I have been recommending Solano Life to everyone who will listen.
I feel the staff truly cares for the residents and do their best to understand the different needs for each resident. My needs for each resident. My mom seems content with her surroundings. Although we would have chosen a different path for her, I feel she is getting the care she needs.
Solano Life House has provided my husband with the best care I could ever ask for. I thank God I found them.
