In Good Hands!
We moved our parents into assisted living at Silver Creek nearly 3 years ago when my mom came out of rehab for a hip replacement. Our dad could no longer take care of her (she also had MS and was developing some dementia) and their house, yard, shop, pool himself. The Silver Creek staff has been very flexible and accommodating of their changing needs since then. They have always been attentive and even loving to the point that we are eternally grateful for having found them! We lost my mom a year ago, and the staff have been so supportive of our dad ever since. They've done a wonderful job throughout the pandemic and during the recent week of Texas ice storms and power outages. The Director, [name removed], head nurse, [name removed], and Activities Director, [name removed] all have been immediately responsive to any concerns that have come up for us, and the chef and maintenance manager as well as my dad's aids have all gone above and beyond to take excellent care of him! I've been touched to the point of tears on several occasions at the care and kindness they've shown my parents. Could not have picked a better place!

In Good Hands!

When we first walked into Silver Creek everyone was extremely friendly and things were well organized. All the residents seemed to be well taken care of, and seemed to be pretty active. According to our loved one, the food would be a four out of five.

I went to the website and I couldn't find the review entry but I found contact page and i put this
SILVER CREEK GARLAND IS THE VERY BEST assisted living facility...they live the silver creek difference, they treat my mom and I like family, they provide my mom with the happiest life and have for a while, but what I recently also learned is that they are also at the top as far as medical care, they recently Caught my moms heart attack early enough to save my moms life...i believe if she would have been anywhere else my mom would have died...as we all age we know that anyone can pass away at any time...and we all will go someday but it feels so good to know that my mom receives the best care possible and that she matters. Everyone I have dealt with there has treated us so well from the director I first met to the nurses and aides and receptionist....
[name removed] is absolutely amazing...she really cares and stays engaged even when other facilities have her residents to make sure they receive quality care
I wouldn't have my mother anywhere else, whether she recovers completely from this heart attack or gets put on hospice...she will go home to silver creek...because there...she is important...regardless of how long we all live...that is what matters most.

Life saver
Silver Creek has been a life saver for our family. When my dad was diagnosed with a terminal illness and my parents were living over 300 miles away, I knew I had to find a facility that could take care of my dad at the end of his life and continue to take care of my mom with her dementia after he was gone. Silver Creek works well with hospice organizations and they assured me my mother would have a "forever" home there after he was gone. Almost four years later, she is still there. The staff genuinely care about their residents. They are quick to respond to my concerns and they put up with my mother's quirks and temper. They really love her! It is a clean, inviting place with spacious apartments and great food. The activities director tries hard to have activities for everyone and they have great parties and family nights! The nurse is experienced and very capable. She has common sense and compassion. The executive director and marketing director are both jewels and the place wouldn't be what it is without them. I never worry about going out of town because I know my mom is safe and well taken care of.

Look no further
My parents have lived at Silver Creek since November 2016. After a bad experience at another facility, we are so grateful for the outstanding care they receive. [Name removed], the marketing director, made their move seamless and stress free. [Name removed] is an outstanding activity director. There could not be a better medical director than [Name removed]. She visits with each resident daily and with her attention to detail, we have been able to address problems before they became emergent. [Name removed] is an outstanding executive director. She is a born leader and could not be a more caring person. I am an extremely picky person, especially when it comes to my parents. I have dropped in at all hours and have never left disappointed. This facility is not a revolving door for employees. Employees are valued and it is evident in the loving care they provide. Whether it is the person greeting you at the desk, the kitchen staff, housekeeping or care staff, they all bend over backwards to do a great job. When I leave town I never have to worry if my parents are in good hands. I recommend this facility without reservations.

It is a honor to write this review. This summer I was looking for a home for my loved one. I am from Rockwall and very familiar with the facilities here. None were acceptable to me. I put all my heart in this search and wasn't willing to settle. After being disappointed with the facilities here and the $$$ amount I prayed for guidance and was lead to Silvercreek in Garland TX . The minute I walked in I knew this was home and it just keep getting better. (I spent 3 years as a companion with my friend at a facility in Rockwall so I knew exactly what to look for). The director [name removed], nurse [name removed] were amazing. These girls give out there cell # to all of us. 24 hr access and I used it. This is super great for the families. I haven't even gotten to activity director, aides, chefs, caretakers. Every single one of them love my family member as if he was there own. I have never seen this much love and compassion at a facility. Never once did the place smell , or did I see a resident dirty. NEVER.. Also the honestly is off the charts here. [Name removed] and [name removed] are hands on with everything. Silvercreek is one well oiled machine. I never had 1 complaint. The activities are so plentiful you cannot do it all. And there is plenty for everyone. It amazing how every employee loves and respects every resident. I could go on and on. The door is locked to this facility so no one comes off the street or leaves. Your loved one is very safe here. While we were in our final hours I spent many hours with hospice and they repeatedly told me Silvercreek is the best facility they go to and they serve all of DFW. I am so impressed with Silvercreek the employee turn over is almost zero. NEVER help wanted signs out. I credit this to [name removed] and [name removed] they treat there employees very good and they do not leave. If I ever need a facility again this is hands down my go to . Silvercreek is #1 in DFW.

Silver Creek Assisted Living in Garland has exceeded all our expectations. All the staff members treat my mother like they would treat their own grandmas. They are very respectful and kind. Welcoming and Accommodating!
My parents moved into Silver Creek a couple months ago. My dad was very reluctant to leave their house but realized he needed help taking care of my mom who has MS and also the beginnings of dementia.
My mom liked the place right away but my dad had a harder time adjusting to the changes. He was used to taking care of things himself so it took him awhile to realize he could ask the staff for help. When he would tell me about any issue he was having, I would call the Director, [name removed], and let her know. She makes herself very available and would address his concerns immediately, make sure they were taken care of, and then give me a call right back to let me know!
That level of care and customer service really caught me by surprise - it is so rare today! I have even contacted [name removed] for advice for a friend's parents, and she and her staff went above and beyond to get info for me and offer helpful suggestions.
Silver Creek has been as welcoming and accommodating as they can possibly be and have even won over my dad by now. (The ice cream may have had something to do with it!)

Dementia residents beware
DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE HERE> The facility is clean & the lower paid staff is friendly-EXCEPT for the [removed], who is inclined to exaggerate, if not tell a fib, about the amount of activities the resident is involved in.
Also, and MOST IMPORTANT, [removed] will violate the resident's rights if it means that the money keeps coming in. If your loved one has dementia and is unaware, you will never know what is going on.

Could Not Age in Place
I really enjoyed my tour of this community. My tour went well overall. This is smaller community compared to the others I toured. While talking with the tour guide they did inform me, that if my mother needed more care she would have to move.

As for any additional care needed, we are able to accommodate most care needs. Most all of our residents have been able to age in place and live comfortably in their apartment with third party services as requested by families. In the event a resident gains behavioral actions or is in need of a continuous medical need that only a skilled nursing facility provides, then yes, they would need to make other living arrangements which we're happy to assist with. Other than that, we are able to provide a very high level of care. An ok community
This community was a little pricey and I did not agree with the charges they wanted for services I felt should have been included. They charged for mileage to transport the residents to the doctor. I was not impressed with the person that took us on our tour. The community looked nice and clean.

Highly Recommended!
Everything about this place has been great! The staff is very good and the director, [Removed], is awesome! They know all of their residents by name and really care about them. The nurse, [Removed], is great as well! The meals that are served there are very good. They have a variety of activities that my mother is really enjoying. They even let me take her piano and set it in the dining room. It has been a positive experience.
