The people are nice, but if there is a real need for assistance, look at other options. It was the ONLY place that had significant diversity in staff and residents. The meals are not healthy and balanced (in my opinion). High salt, lots of pork...limited fresh fruits and vegetables.

Overall nice community and friendly staff.
I would give all 5 but have a few issues with billing they don't seem to concerned about fixing. I have stated several times we will do her laundry but they keep wanting to charge me 55 a month to do. Also with dining I've told them repeatedly not to bring food to her room because they charge 3 every time they do. Her memory is not there so when they ask if she wants them to bring her something she says yes because she forgets they charge for that. Every time I bring it up they say they will take care of it but they never right anything down. So that tells me they are just trying to push it off. If they would respond to problems like this it would be all 5's.

It was very affordable! Other residents in the memory care unit seemed happy and content. The overall staff was excellent! Great activities. Staff very helpful. Weekly housekeeping and laundry included in the monthly rent. Would definitely recommend the memory care unit to others.

Wonderful Community and Great Staff
I would suggest you look into Oaks at Savannah. The staff and the community are easy to work with from the start to the finish. They provide high level of care for your loved one.
The community is able to provide a safe environment and medication management for my loved one.
The room, utilities, changing of linens, and housekeeping are included in the monthly fee.
The staff are quick to respond to your questions or concerns about your loved one.

Once a comforting environment now a concern
This was a once a place that provided peace of mind knowing that your loved one was being looked after properly and their was genuine concern.for their welfare. After 3 different management companies in as many years, the peace of mind has changed to genuine concern and unbelievable stress. Numerous safety issues, continual staff changes, and other issues to numerous to mention, have changed the atmosphere entirely. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this facility and advise looking elsewhere.

I would definitely recommend
We chose Oaks at Savannah because it was a little more reasonably priced and the people that we dealt with before we moved in were people I thought would be approachable and easy to talk to and it has turned out to be just that. The room sizes here are very good, they are all private. I think they need more staff to cook the meals, the food is just mediocre. Overall I have been very pleased, they are very attentive to my husband and he is always clean when I see him.

Thank you for visiting with us recently. On the day you toured there may have been some wind damage from a recent storm, which has since been cleaned up. In nicer weather our Bridge to Rediscovery memory care residents enjoy our beautiful Memory Garden with its herbs, lemon tree and roses. We also frequently use our front porch with its comfortable rocking chairs and outdoor ceiling fans. Morningside is average
We chose Morningside because of the value for the money. I do think that the night time staff are a problem, they were grumpy and not very attentive to residents needs. I did have an issue that my mom was here 32 days and I had to move her because of care she needed, they charged me for an entire month extra for medications and the upgrade for the level of care that she was. Due to our experience I would maybe recommend to others looking.

I Wouldn't Recommend
I would recommend you find a different community. I ended up taking my loved one out of the community after a very short amount of time. I found the care to be substandard than what was our expectations.
The food looked balanced and edible. At the time they delivered it hot.

Morningside
We chose Morningside of Savannah because the facility was very clean and had no smell, it is spacious, and the location was good for our family. They had a lot of activities pre-covid, they had things like animals coming in once a week to visit with the residents, people coming in to play music, etc. The staff members try very hard and they are very patient with their residents and they are always available to talk to you, easy to communicate with. I would recommend to others who are looking.

We do like it, however they do seem understaffed. They do keep the community clean. They also are not keeping up with my mother's hygiene as much as they are supposed to. The quality of the food is also not as good anymore, which could be a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The staff is very courteous.

Do not recommend
I would not recommend memory care unit at Marshview. Majority of staff are incompetent and [Removed]. They are not properly trained in how to interact with residents suffering from memory loss. Make sure you observe the unit and speak with residents family members if they are present when you're there to get a better idea of the memory care unit.

Go somewhere else
My grandmother fell in her bathroom and pressed her help button to which a nurse responded. [removed] My aunt arrived in the meantime and took care of the situation. The nurse called me to tell me that my grandma was at an ER but would be okay and would be back to the facility soon.
Three weeks ago Grandma fell again while walking to my mother's truck. Grandma uses a walker, but also grabbed the safety railing, which was shaky and caused her to fall. [removed] Grandma will be in the hospital for at least two more weeks and then a rehab facility for a few more weeks. No one from Marshview has called or come by to check on her. When my mom or aunt use Grandma's apartment to shower, they have been ignored by the director, who refused to pay for Grandma's apartment while she is in the hospital.
