This was a really nice place; however, it is expensive for what you get. The staff communication with the family was okay. I would have to call and leave a message, and then would be waiting for a call back. There seems to be a lot of activities available for residents to participate in, if they would like. Some of the care available includes medication management. It would be nice to see daily upkeep and cleaning of the resident's bathroom. I do know that if you want more service it does cost.... Oakmont of Folsom did a great job on the tour. They were very accommodating. It was just a smaller facility with a smaller, less active population than we were looking for. And it had fewer activities (and no art class, which my loved one wanted in particular).
I had a great tour experience with Oakmont of Folsom - I really had no problems at all and liked what I saw. For us it was just the location was further, so we went with another Oakmont facility. This location seemed great as well though!
Listening the recorded sales pitch while on hold as I've done now countless times over the years is quite painful! Often this long wait ends with "I'm sorry, she can't speak to you now." I can get through to my mother only about one out of five attempts.

Nice but the price to move in is way too high of $10,000.
Response from Oakmont of Folsom
March 31, 2022Hello, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback.
We had a great tour with Oakmont. The facility is nice and does not have a nursing home feel to it, but we did not feel that he would fit in with the crowd.
We chose Oakmont of Folsom because she was borderline dementia/Alzheimer's, and other places wanted to move her straight into memory care. But Oakmont was able to have her go into assisted living, which gives her more freedom until things progress. Overall I would recommend this facility to other families who are looking.

My brothers and I are so happy with the care my dad is receiving at Oakmont. Oakmont is known in Folsom as “the nice place.” Someone at another place called it “ritzy”. And it is that for sure. But they have not compromised care and attention just to make it seem cosmetically nice. The staff is approachable and respectful and after only a couple of months seems like the truly know my dad, the food is great, the common spaces warm and lovely. We would visit him no matter where he lived but it’s a great joy to walk into Oakmont and say hello to the staff and be able to spend time there. We trust that he’s safe, supported, and seen. It’s a beautiful space and my dad loves it.

Very, very nice, but probably too pricey. With only 40 apts., it was almost TOO quiet!

The place is very nice, clean and well organized. There are a lot of activities. According to the person who showed us around, they serve 3 meals a day plus snack . The menu looks very good and extensive.

When I was looking for a place for my mom this was the first community I got to tour and I was definitely impressed. They gave me legal and financial information even if it wasn’t about their community. They gave me more information than any other community I had seen. The staff was wonderful and I was mostly impressed about how the staff knew each one of the residents’ names. They were family members to them, not numbers. It was very clean and very fancy. Everyone was incredibly helpful and nice. They even had fresh baked cookies!

As we were looking for options, we had a tour with this community. The experience was fine and got to see the place. We needed a fast move in and they were not ready for us. I did not have anything bad happen while we were here.

This is a first class facility! The people are kind and caring, the dining experience is 4 star and the activities and movie theater are outstanding. My mom, 87 years old, moved in midFebruary and is wheelchair bound that requires a lot of assistance to get around. She is very happy with this facility. It is clean and doesn't have that old musty smell you'll find at most other facilities. If I ever get to a point I need ADL care, I'm headed here!

This place was one of my top choices out of all the different communities I had looked at. The property was beautiful and I loved the floor plan set up that they had. They had a meal plan as well as activities provided for the residents throughout the week that I was impressed with. Overall this place was great and had a lot to offer, it just was out of budget for my mother.

I actually had already put a deposit and they had a room available for this place, but after speaking with my father he decided it was too expensive. The place itself is lovely, I can't imagine any bad coming from this place. The apartments are terrific, very comfortable looking and nice.
