The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. We had a time line that was almost impossible, however they were able to work out an apartment for Stephen at a price he could afford. We very much appreciate them. The amenities are very good. There is a barber on site and that was such a relief for him. They have many more things available if he would take part. Maybe with time. It would be helpful if they had someone who could do light housekeeping for a fee or could do grocery shopping. [name removed] and [name removed] were great!... Read more

My moms, in her 80's, lives here, & is an emaculately clean living person. Her legs are ate up with bed bugs, it's so sad & the office asks her & her children to purchase her own $50 bottle of bed bug treatment. This is awful, sad, terrible!! If hospitals, other apartments & hotels can control this, the rent tenants pay should Also do the same. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!

If I could give the friendliness of the staff a 5+++++ I would. I will say that I am very happy here. I am one of the healthier folks, and age 69 and didn't choose it necessarily because it is a care facility. I have not needed the care so I cannot comment on the care services. When it comes to the meals and dining service, they just discontinued meals because so few people used it, preferring do prepare their own meals. For the activities, I have not participated in any of them, so I can't really rate them.

There are a bunch of pests, such as mice, roaches, and more in the community. My apartment is infested due to other apartments, and the community not responding quick enough to the issue. I wish the staff would follow through on concerns and requests from the residents. The oven in my apartment has issues and I have mentioned this to the staff. There are some activities such as Wii and bingo for the residents to participate in.

The community is reasonable clean, and the company is in the process of replacing the carpet in the hallways and the lobby area. The staff members are very helpful and friendly. The building manager checks up on the residents and calls when there is a problem. The meals are average, some do not like the food that is prepared. The activities although are well planned. Based on our experience so far we would recommend the NeighborhCare of Chapel Hill.

Good balance of activities to consider various interest with the community. Have used the onsite Café only a times and it was good. Plan too use this amenity more going forward. Maintenance was quick to address some specific move-in requests. [Name removed] (building manager) has been responsive and easy to work with. [name removed] (building receptionist) is helpful and responsive to questions. [Name removed] (executive director...big boss) has provided informative community updates. [Name removed] (leasing agent) was super helpful during the entire leasing process.

I haven't lived here long, but [name removed] has always took care of any concerns I've had. I picked this community, because it was reasonable rent, and all the utilities were paid.

The value for the money is good. For others looking for a place, this is a place that they should really look into. I really like the convient location, and it makes it easier to get back and forth in the area. I chose this place because of the cost of rent, the avalability and the professionalism of the sales team. They provided alot of info, and it's a great place.

NeighborCare of Chapel Hill really does have friendly staff here. There is a café center where you can order good. This place is gigantic so the activities are kind of on a building by building basis. A few buildings have coffee groups that meet up, and other have groups who loves to play cards and different games. However we are having a horrible ant problem right now '

It is an older building so it is showing that wear and tear but they do try to keep the place looking nice. It could be a little cleaner in some areas, and they are having a little bit of trouble with staffing but that is happening everywhere. Overall the staff have been very friendly and helpful. They do have quite a few activities for the residents. They just hired a new person for the dining so they are still working through some of those kinks. The price was very good for our loved one, it is really reasonable. If you are looking for a place that is very reasonably priced this is it. It is more like apartment styled living and not a care facility. However if you do need extra assistance they do have resources for that. We are confident that if our loved one ever needed more assistance they would be able to help us.

The community has a lot to offer the residence. The utilities are included and they have 2 shuttles to talk the residence out. The communication between the staff and the family is good. I would recommend this community to others. The staff is great and worked hard and the value is great. The community is nice and peaceful and in a good neighborhood.

Neighborcare of Chapel Hill is a good community for independent senior apartment living. Staff is professional, courteous and helpful. The new Cafe has good value and tasty food - a casual meeting place. There is a community spirit and one can choose a variety of activities to participate in - without pressure to join or abstain. The location is convenient for shopping and medical facilities, but off the beaten track in a pleasant wooded area - good for walking. Bus services available for non-drivers. I have friends and family nearby and another resident was a childhood neighbor and school friend. The apartments are well designed and comfortable. All in all, a good place to live and it feels like home to me. (Good protocols were observed early on with the advent of Covid-19.)

A Place for Mom has scored NeighborCare of Chapel Hill 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
